enny got a reaction from Jim Chang in Kowa B&H Close Focus Mod & other 'Tweaks'
I think its worth doing this going from 5 ft to 3 ft i am just below 3 ft my self. and its not a big complex modification bras are still there alignment is still there its just you cut the bras shorter and you gain more. I wanted to get tokina go get down to 2 to 3 ft. But i now have no really need for tokina now and save 600$

Normally you'd be preaching to the choir. This time you're IMO plain wrong. I can't imagine anything else that could make the gh4 4;3 mode look more anamorphic. This looks more 'anamorphic' than most of the stuff I've seen from Hugo - including what he's shot on his Kowa B+H. if Hugo had aimed the light in the background towards the lens it would have flared more. instead he used the light to add some edge light to her to make her pop a bit more.
I'm not saying I love the optical quality, but I can certainly see some anamorphic beauty there. The lenses have shaped the way Hugo has shot the piece. He'd have shot it completely differently and it would have looked completely different if he'd used normal lenses and cropped.

enny got a reaction from Bold in Seeking Info About the Bausch & Lomb Projection Lens
no i dont focus with the B&L at all just the back lens. B&L does not focus i been trying to focus or defocus while spinning the front of the lens but no effects is noticed curvature of the pillar is bad its defiantly due to modification i have never seen anything like this on my image i would get edge to edge sharpens and clarity.
Tips i would not modified the lens at all just to be safe i was thinking but decided not to.
I have some videos but they are someplace in my 3tb HD have to dig but here are some videos i found
https://vimeo.com/72174387 in this one i believe he is using close up filters since lens focuses to 12 ft to infinity

This was my first lens and it was dam good lens when it comes to quality its right up there with ISCO i head sankor many other small anamorphic lenses but they cant match sharpness and quality of this lens its not video sharp like never projection lenses but has that film softens its unique. What i love with this lens i can use 35mm lenses and up. you can even cut it in half and use 24mm and up. And best thing is that i only focused with one lens. I have kowa for B&H but its pain in the ass to focus. Its noit havey just some pople are lazy to do the work if you do the work you will get some beautiful images out of it

enny reacted to dhessel in Do i need to worry about ISO?
on the BM cameras ISO has no effect on the raw data. ISO is only stored as metadata but underlying data is the same. It only matters in prores.

Dude you made a feature film how many people can say that NOT many Nobody likes their work name me one artist director that loves his films or art and say Shit man i am good this is good
No for some HARD CANDY LOVE stop bitching and moaning you wont get any sympathy from me and go have fun by making short films and stop thinking that one day you will be some bog movie director. You think all those directors you mentioned started because they wanted to be big and important at the beginning NO they do what they love. Keep doing what you love and if one day you make it then more power to you my philosophy is if i don't like it if it is giving me stress i don't do it.
PS I was in a war 4 years at age 14 (Bosnia) lost 2 brother and father to that war escaped to Croatia over the mountain took me 3 weeks to travel 230k almost got killed in doing it, from there went to Pakistan for 2 years as refugee almost got raped in one of the refugee camps, come to Canada with red cross was homeless for 6 months in Toronto barely spoke any English lived from shelter to shelter could not get work thanks to my English took me 3 months to get welfare got my education went to collage for graphic design and film All that was 15 years ago do i make films NO do i work as Graphics designer NO I fabricate kitchens in a small town make good money have a beautiful family my own place nice SUV car there is clean water coming from my tap i have electricity and this film staff i do it as hobby and threat it as professional hobby why because it makes me happy
But i am the happiest when i take my 2 kids to the park every day watching them play while i sip my coffee what i am tying to say don't over think just do what makes you happy if you make it then good
I don't know it any of this makes any sense
