Does Andrew have some clairvoyant type knowledge of some future 'big' video related firmware update I wonder? Would make a lot of sense. My anticipation is that zebra's and/or false colour could come as well as general minor tweaks. Could there be limited record 4K 60p as well? Panning (in video) stabili(s)ation (hehe) tweaks perhaps, if this is even a confirmed issue or room for improvement.
The stabilisation is great, but really it's not at present walking about great in my view, especially coupled with let's say average rolling shutter performance. My experience is that it's great for what it is, careful and considered hand held shooting, though don't expect wonders if moving about much unless perhaps coupled with your gimbal of choice....

Hopefully Andrew will include some moving shots in his review.

Sure, and likewise, people should just say "yeah, the IBIS isn't that great", as opposed to "you need to fix your technique... there's no perfect camera... quit being such a downer".
If this was a sun blackspot in a Blackmagic camera, or overheating in an A6300, or IBIS panning issues in a G80 (later fixed by firmware), it would be recognized as a real issue.
I'm hoping Fuji pulls through, like they usually do, and offers a kickass firmware update at some point that improves things.

It could be that you are not doing anything wrong and thats how it is....

I didn't mean to say that nobody should care about what anyone else thinks. I think reading opinions about new functions and technologies are as interesting as the next guy. Idk, I' I have never and will never buy a camera I haven't held in my hands first. Happy to hear you don't need to. Looking forward to hearing your impressions on the X-H1. Looks like a great camera to me!

Thank god for this, if true. For the past week I've had an E-M1 mark II and a GH5 sitting in my bedroom, and as beautiful as the GH5's 400mbps footage is, I ended up going with the Olympus as I just couldn't accept the GH5's focusing, and this was with firmware 2.1. For stills it was ok (though still not as confident as the E-M1), but for video it was laughable, even just back-button-focusing before I started the shot took a good few seconds to slowly get to where it needed to be. Yes, I usually shoot MF, but I still think a $2k camera should have usable AF.

Ehh... no PADF, no sale for me. MF with fly-by-wire native lenses is a joke, same for running one on a gimbal. Literally everyone else has moved beyond contrast only AF at this price point. Despite Panasonic's marketing attempts - DFD isn't the greatest AF system in the world. Yes everyone's needs are different and plenty will never use the AF, so no need to hit me with the condescending "pros never use AF" bullshit. At that price point it needs a competitive AF system. If not I'll keep using Sony and Fuji.
I was soooooo close to buying a GH5 and a EM1.2 when I was in Hong Kong a few months ago and just completely moving to m43, instead I re-bought the a7rII and a few lenses. I'm now thinking about selling my Fuji kit and going full Sony with the a7r3 and a smaller body like the a6500. I would like 4k60, but I'd like to be able to solo-shoot it on a gimbal utilizing AF.
I don't buy the speculation about not being able to go PADF because of some contractual thing with Sony either, IMO they're focused on other areas like the video spec and now IBIS - and aren't devoting the resources necessary to program a CDAF/PDAF array since m43 cameras are a small source of revenue and turn little to no profit.
I don't think something as awesome as 4k120p will get me to switch or even consider this, since DR will still be the same and AF will still suck compared to others. Anyone dreaming of another stop is delusional, since no currently available sensor architecture has delivered a full stop from generation to generation in the last few years, improvements are always incremental, a fun stop would be a dramatic gain. Not going to happen.

After watching a lot of videos, G9 AF is not that good. In many cases it fails even more than GH5 when tracking. 
My minimum acceptable level for video AF is A6500, or A9.

Depends on your need. I guess for 95% of filmmakers, GH5 is definitely better. 

I am in the market for a 4K60p small camera and not more than $2K. The pros of GH5 over G9 for video you mentionned: 
VLOG: I do not use it in 4K60p 8bit
HLG: N/A in 4K60
ALLI and 10bit : N/A
Unlimited recording time: I never record for more than 1min
6K anamorphic: N/A for 4K60p 
Master Pedestal: never used that 

G9 on the other hand has Better AF / Better IBIS and less expensive. I will take that any day thanks.

Ok, fair enough, though have you read Andrew's reviews here for both the E-M1ii and X-T2? Both companies have had abysmal video up to now, but I think both have pulled it together with these two newest cameras. I have the Olympus now, it's video quality is easily as good as the G80. The X-T2 has the same sensor as the A6300, with it's X-Trans business added to it, and it's just as good as the Sony, just with better colors and the same crappy rolling shutter.
I've owned all four cameras and all had amazing video quality.
But if you're basing your displeasure with Olympus and Fuji on their past cameras, I can understand that.
 

Lets not forget the power switch. I have no idea why Olympus thinks using both hands to turn on a camera is a good feature. 
Also the joystick & larger size will be appreciated by sports/wildlife photographers.

I can understand Brian's frustration, some autofocussing systems have become so good that in particular situations, like when shooting with a very shallow dof on a steadicam or just a shot of a person walking towards the camera, will be much easier to achieve with a a6300 or any Canon camera with dual pixel autofocus. There is a reason why professional and expensive camera like a c300 have a good autofocus, it's not a amateur function anymore if it is well implemented.

Look, I'm all about M4/3, but to be honest, the actual sensor performance of just about any APS-C camera kicks M4/3 butt. Butt, I mean, but, it's more than sensor performance alone. Also, performance compared on sites like that are mostly important in terms of stills, perhaps not as much in terms of video, so, that's less of an advantage, but still a significant one. If you can make the rolling shutter work and never had issues with overheating, I'd even say: stick with it, good on you! You get a clear advantage in noise performance, detail and dynamic range (in some capacity) too. G80 wouldn't be a step up in quality. What you would get is a cheaper system. The possibility to mount much smaller lenses, to have better ergonomics (imho), front-facing w/ full touchscreen implementation et cetera. It's more about those things... the sensor is not on the same playing field though. But it's certainly managable going with M4/3, especially if you don't need the lowlight performance per se. I was looking forward so much to the A6300, but I'm glad I didn't get one. Because the rolling shutter and overheating (just knowing it could at any given time... I know it would probably work fine for months on end, but when push comes to shove would let me down at the most inconvenient time) would supersuck. I don't like the ergonomics and design of the camera. No front-facing touchscreen. Colors not that great off the bat. No real plans for the APS-C line-up lenses. Et cetera. Just my 2cts of course, but I choose not to deal with those things. But anyways... so you've had the GX85 right? Then you roughly know what the system is capable of. The G80/85 is a different league as a camera. In sensor performance, not so much. If you're happier with the A6300 than the GX85, I don't see why a G80 would suddenly triumph.
 
On a unrelated note, *points towards the topic title*... anyone bought an E-M1 Mark II yet? Just curious. It's been out in countries like Germany and The Netherlands for a while now. Also started to see changes in the stock status of several local stores, yet for the time body only is tricky to get a hold of. I guess best would be to sell my E-M1 as kit with the 12-40mm and buy the E-M1 Mark II with all new 12-40mm in kit. Shouldn't make any difference below the line. Guess everyone is waiting for the GH5 announcement on the 4th (full specs + pricing + release date (spring/March/April))... but nobody was like: ooh, I have to get it anyways (not even you fuzzynormal)? I'm actually tempted to maybe pick one up on friday. I love the E-M1 for stills over any other camera. Doesn't mean I'm not interested to see what the GH5 is about... but it's not really the same thing, now, is it? Currently I have all kinds of cameras, so, I'd just be replacing models for their respective successors an keep using each for the areas they excell.

I just got the camera around the time that the newest firmware came out a few weeks ago, and though the firmware notes only mention fixing overheating in still photos, I saw a bunch of people on a DPReview forum claiming to see improvement in video recording (while some claimed to see none). So I decided to do a test myself, though I have no experience with the previous firmwares so I can't really say if there is an improvement or not, but both tests gave me right around 30minutes, which like I said, for me, is more than I'll probably ever need. 

As someone who preordered the X-T2 the minute preorders opened, and then cancelled that same preorder in order to buy a used A6300, I have to say I think you're way too hard on the A6300. Yes, the ergonomics are weak compared to the beauty that Fuji is, but it's still a pretty amazing camera, one of the best Sony has made, including its FE line. The X-T2's omission of 120fps and the A6300's inclusion of it was a big factor in my change of plans, as was the fact that it was half the price. From my tests I get 30minutes of 4k before overheating happens, and I've never in my life records for that long in one sitting; I know tons of people do, but I don't and probably never will. And from what I've read from reviews, rolling shutter is the same between both cameras.
Not trying to knock the X-T2 in any way, I wish I could have both, but to say the A6300 is anything less than great is hard to swallow.

Though I doubt very seriously that they left it off just for kicks - I'm sure there must be a reason for its exclusion, like the macro blocking that others have suggested.

Mattias, a Fuji sales rep, now that's funny! I know he posts some interesting and informative videos on various cameras, but a sales rep....I don't think so!!
