Do you have an ordinary timeline representation of Premiere sequences in AAE CC meanwhile? Or is it *still* the ugly aztec pyramid with the clips stacked in layers?
Andrew wrote s.th. about 5D2RGB, didn't he? The purpose of this app is to choose the correct range, if your NLE doesn't.
The Aztec Pyramic. I know its not the best timeline workflow for this kind of work. I wish Adobe give a mode to change it to look like Premier. Still you can have an incredible IQ rendering from AE.
Here i share a link for a video i just uploaded. Download for max quality: https://mega.co.nz/#!kIxzjBQD!-9Zm5zyaReDy04LKSMtt0nFZXGsI_tcKWJHcPqjZoGc

For PC I will recommend my workflow. Edit with the native on Premiere, then import the sequence on After Effects and grade in 16bit (or 32 if you prefer). Every thing is done with the native file. that recipe is banding free!

Hey man, I know what you mean with this Nikons.

Thanks everyone!
Yes, those are Nikon colors. That´s one of the main reasons why I chose for shooting the movie with this cameras (D7100, D5300). Also the image gave me some nice dreamy look that really help to sell the atmosphere of the film.
Also, some old Nikkor 35mm f2, creamy shots are in this teaser ;)

Looking great, Nikon D750?
Nope :) have in mind that the D750 was just released.

Your vimeo tags gave it away :) I was going to guess Gh2, but I would hardly say any of these cameras are ****
Fantastic looking lighting in the trailer
Now i corrected tha mistake, ha ha. Thanks for checking it out ;)

Hi, I´m finishing my new film, and just wanted to share this little Teaser. can anyone guess what camera was shot with? ;)

Good luck doing that in your NLE :)
If there is a way, do correct me if I'm wrong :)
You can actually do it in After Effects, Transport your cut from premiere to AE, and work in 16 or 32 bit. Color grade, and if you export on 8bit(or even 10bit DnxHD) AE Dither the images because it has to downsample from your 16bit or 32bit project. ;)

Wow! Nice job. This was all done on a D7100 and a D5200?
Michael
Yep, mostly on D7100.

Wow really thank you guys!!! Nice u liked the teaser of "Black or White" (that is the english title)
We are almost 70% of finishing shooting the film and I'm extremely happy with the overall results.
Here a got a frame grab of what we shot this saturday:
This Nikon are powerful, yes they have their flaws but is the same way when first canon appeared, just try a little bit and you can get something nice.
PS: obviously next time I'll try the GH4 :)

Hi, I'm not really going to defend Nikon on the way they design the D5300, yes controls are real shit.
But over all I'm going to point out that image quality is really nice and you can shot a feature with it if you want to. SHIT I'M SHOOTING MY LAST FILM ON A D7100 AND D5200!!!
Here I share a TEASER of it (IM SORRY IT STILL DON'T HAVE ENGLISH SUBS), its still private, the password is: teaser.
Enjoy ;)

No, that's not correct.
What you see here is typical video chroma noise. This is nothing new -- it especially exists on VHS tapes.
Digital photos has chroma noise too, as the sensor is pushed. I saw this on my D1 all the time, as anything past ISO 200 had noise like this. Try shooting a D1 at 800 ISO or more! That was terrible.
This is not "hot pixels".
Yes, this posts was a few months old. But I can't stand it when completely wrong video informatino like that is posted. (I'm actually looking closely at the 5300, and the 1080p 60fps looks to have almost no rolling shutter!)
Emmm, he is not wrong. Actually my D7100 has like 5 red hot pixels and Nikon already changed my body once, its a bummer :(

Has anyone decided if the 7100 is inferior to the 5200 for video due to its lack of OLPF? Is there any moire/aliasing in video mode on the 7100? I'm holding off on buying a D5200 because of the immanent 5300, which has no OLPF (+ prob same sensor as 52/7100) but has 60p, better low light and better battery than 5200. I assume fixed pattern noise will still be a problem with the 5300 ...
Nope, the D7100 don´t have Moire and Aliasing. Image is Perfect. ;)

I own a D5200, and I'm looking to upgrade, which is why I'm interested in the D7100. It is a tough decision, the images of the D5300 do look fantastic. There are a lot of features the D7100 has that I really like, another I never mentioned is the ability to set a manual Kelvin White balance.
There's just many little features of that camera, that to me, are significant. However, as one person posted, it's just a matter of time before the D7100 is replaced with an expeed 4 processor. I think I'll trade up for the D5300, and wait and see where Nikon goes with the D7100.
Thanks again for all your input!I own a D7100. The banding pattern is there... but you can fight it.
I'm really thinking on changing for a D5300 because of the image improvements, but the "Pro" controls is something that is holding me back, hard decision. Maybe just wait for some kind of "D7200" coming soon.

That all looks very good to me. What lenses are you using primarily? Just just did a couple more quick tests (not worth uploading) and was checking the sharpness of my 18-200 VR DX lens compared to an old Nikkor 135 FF f2 and my Nikkor 50mm 1.8D. The 18-200 DX VR 3.5-5.6 simply isn't that sharp. It's decent, but the other lenses are noticeably sharper.
Problem is, I was really hoping the 18-200 would be closer to the others because it's VR engaged really helps quite a bit for handheld.
I wonder if there's any Nikon mount zoom, that gives me the range of 18-200 including macro with good image stabilization and AF, but is significantly sharper? I was starting to just think the D5300's image was a bit too soft, but now that I've compared to other glass... it's clear that my 18-200 isn't quite up to snuff.
PS. Never mind on which lenses you used... just saw them listed in the comments on your vimeo page
Thanks! I like this camera, but after seeing the fixes that the D5300 has on IQ, I'im starting to consider a change. the FPN really holds you down when exposing in some situations. In other side i might wait if there is some "D7200" coming with the same fixes ;)

Yes! The D7100 don't suffer from moire or aliasing, is very organic and nice color too. Only difference between them is body construction.
D5300 might be good, but you better wait to see some real footage and tests.

The D5200 used a Toshiba sensor. It looks like the D5300 is now using the D7100 sensor which has no AA filter. So don't expect similar results to the D5200.
Well, Actually the D5200 and D7100 has the same sensor, only that the D7100 has no OLPF. And as a D7100 owner i can say it has a beautiful image, very detailed, so come on D5300! ;)
-
Well, i have the D7100 for a couple of months and honestly it's very awesome APS-C sensor cam. Unless you really want the detail of a Gh2 o 3. The D5200 and D7100 are a good fight to canon (without the raw)
-
Im having a lot of fun with my D7100. Would love to see some coming features, higher bit rates or raw... Meanwhile will still using the way it is.
P.S: this is something i shot a few days with this lovely cam, enjoy.

Wild Ranger - that's the million dollar question. Nobody knows yet.
Here's a 3.5k sample frame I just shot in silent stills burst mode at 30fps...
http://www.eoshd.com/uploads/ml/56420194.DNG.zip
You should be able to open it with Photoshop if your Adobe camera raw is up to date.
Image quality is stunning, no signs of moire. I think it looks like a 1:1 crop of the sensor. It isn't the full frame, more like a 1.3x crop horizontally and a much more severe crop vertically.
Thanks Andrew for the answer.
I already check that frame, It looks amazing. Thanks.
