What were your results on this lens?...I too could not find any info online on this model.

makes me wonder why someone has not made a de-squeeze optic in a similar form factor for use with optical finders built into DSLR cams. would be great for stills or use as a directors finder to rough out a setup.

I'm getting continuous 1600x1200 recording at 4:3 with a 80.3MBs write speed on my Komputerbay 64GB 1000x cards. Must say it works well on the 7D, as any vingetting is well outside the aspect crop.

Redstan has forgotten more than most of us know. Sadly, most quality built products are often overlooked and undervalued these days...Redstan Is a cottage industry that will not sell substandard tin foil goods, this may not suit the people who want everything 'yesterday' but these are the people who deserve the crappy pipe and screws from other clamp makers in my opinion. You get what you pay for.   In my experience that is top quality of build and service (as long as you don't act like a tit), not to mention the invaluable information and guidance he gives out privately or on this forum.    Viva La Redstan.     P.s - I want to buy a Redstan branded T-shirt with 'Bokeh Tit' written on it...as Well as other famous quotes from his posts over the years.  

Hello morphs.   I finally admitted to not needing this project on my desk for much longer, and felt a member of this forum may find it very useful to fix up, or use as a donor for missing damaged optics/body on their own iscomorphot 8/1.5x.                                                                          So, here is what's up for sale (see pic)     1= front retainer ring 2=front diopter optic (no scratches) 3=front focus assembly 4=focus collar (worn but legible) 5=rear spacer ring 6=rear optic module (small off center scratch on rear optic) (body screws not included)                                                                                                                                                        IMPORTANT                              This collection of parts does not include the main center optic module.     These parts amount to everything - minus the main optical block (center assembly). If you are not sure what that means, look at the last picture and notice the lack of oval...it's the magical glass bit that is missing.   The front and rear optics are in pretty good shape, the rear has a small scratch that should not cause big issues, as it's away from the center and it's pretty small.     I've posted this here, as I would rather sell to a contributing member of this forum and avoid a possible ebay listing this weekend, I really hate advertising on this forum but in this case it may help someone revive their iscomorphot from the grave.   P.M me with an offer if interested.

  I agree 100%...It is such a shame that certain people have ignored the polite request to not advertise here. (I'm looking at a few regular posters with squinted eyes...if it is your business to sell pre-made setups, you already have a site for that...why advertise constantly on this forum?)   Now it is like a guarded community where people are less likely to share videos and information because the sample videos and information gets used by others to hype up their overpriced ebay auctions. Perhaps it's just a sign of the times that more people are keen to just 'take take take'...rather than contribute anything insightful.   In my opinion, any advertising/sales/trades between members are perfectly fine if conducted privately through DM's and at the buyers/sellers risk. A market place here would likely cause problems to manage and make secure. It is the links to ebay and other online auction listings that is slowly killing this forum and helping people to drive prices to stupendous highs.

Mac vs PC debate has shifted to cameras....pathetic. Assuming you have the luxery, pick the right tool for the job/ budget and don't bank all of your pennies on companies offering the moon on a stick, with a dubious delivery history. It was not too long ago that manufacturers announced cameras after they were stacked in warehouses, ready to be shipped. Now people are announcing cameras after a quick CAD design and a handshake promise from a chip supplier. It seems that the recent disappointment with large (or small) companies are due to them being way too optimistic about every link in the real world manufacturing chain and too carried away with customer excitement for a product. Give me a boring company that only announces when its products are ready, but listen to the right people for the target they are trying to hit. Of course people are entitled to be mad at them if you we're an early adopter/preorder customer...but only so much these days (after multiple broken RED and BMD delivery/spec promises)....we have been here before. It is a bit like expecting money back from a gambling addict....they will tell you every optimistic tale about how they will deliver your goods, meanwhile their car is being towed away behind them.

10k-15k may not go far enough to acquire cameras AND a decent beam splitter rig in my opinion   I would suggest possibly investing in a matched pair of cameras, and hiring a proper beam splitter rig for jobs when needed. Unless you are literally shooting stereo everyday as your main income, it makes no sense to invest in the equipment yourself.   I would personally contact a hire company that has Stereo rig expertise and get some familiarity with the equipment and rental options, if you are serious about quality stereo content, you will almost definitely benefit from hiring top end rig equipment in as and when you need.   Or shoot mono and pay yourself for the stereo conversion work :)   If you are in London, these are the guy's to talk to: http://www.onsight.co.uk/camera-rental/3d

Ok, let me get this straight... A new member to this forum made his first day's post to be links to his ebay auctions of extortionate BIN prices on lenses.Then in his second post he offers to take the sales out of ebay for a 10% kickback to the buyer (against ebay auction rules). Decay is much too long for it to be strobes. Cheapest way of achieving that effect is to get tungsten work lamps from a home depot/hardware store and synchronize the 'flashing' by simply turning the power on and off on the in-line switches. Do not overload the power socket by plugging too many lamps into a single socket! This will give you the natural 'fade' between flashes. A more portable version could be made by wiring 12v tungsten lamp heads or even car headlights to a decent car battery. The proper way of doing it would be through a lighting desk and by setting up synchronized cues via a dimmer to the lamp heads.

Hey folks....I'm about to jump head first onto the 5D3 raw bandwagon. So I am going to have a Nikon v1 for sale (body only) to help towards funds...but the cool thing that I can offer is a DIY  EF mount that my genius friend Richard Gale knocked up for me. This mount cleverly tricks the Nikon into thinking that the 'approved' kit lens is attached, when in fact it is attached at the end of a short umbilical cable!   Sorry, I don't want to split the two...only Camera and DIY adapter for sale.   This is it...   http://www.eoshd.com/comments/topic/2274-nikon-v1-shooting-4k-60fps-raw-for-200/?p=32048     This setup allows the user to attach any EF lens to the mount and use as normal....although you may get funny looks with a cable and wrapped up kit lens dangling from the EF mount...but hey, that's part of the fun.   Modifications are to the EF adapter only...the camera itself is untouched and virtually new condition, it just lacks the kit lens. I'll have original box, charger/battery etc that I can retrieve from under my bed if motivated :)   PM me with an offer if interested, I would prefer it go to a good home where experimental modifications are appreciated, and someone will give it the use that I should have done.   Cheers

Please close the thread. I'm sure it was started with the best of intentions, but it has quickly mutated to be a very negative influence. There are plenty of resources on the forum for new members to sift through and learn what to be looking for in an auction. Digging through the forum is also the best way for people to quickly see which members to trust and listen to.

Agreed.   Ebay listing topic should be closed...it now makes it very unfair for people who want to buy - as ANYONE (including the seller) can now swoop through the list and start a bidding war that is now getting to ridiculous levels in some recent cases. The inflated interest and prices also make it more likely that fraudsters would try bogus private listings outside of the Ebay bubble. Private sale listings would be fine as long as people conduct sales and purchases with common sense and with the guidelines recommended by Andrew. A minimum feedback/posting level would be a good start to help ensure that fewer people would get stung or scammed.

I would highly recommend a Redstan front filter clamp.   If you need an 'emergency' or temporary solution I would suggest putting multiple passes of PVC black electrical insulation tape around the front ring area to build up a diameter, then firmly (but carefully) push on a large step ring that gives you a thread that you can then attach a VariND or other filters to. It is not a substitute for a proper clamp, but can work well if the step ring is wedged on there nice and tight.

Yes, it has the screw but I still had to cut at the bottom - to release the rear optic from a glued in fitting - I did not want to force that free by hand, so I went medieval on it's ass. Can be rebuilt easily, but am finding it very practical to use in it's closer focus form.   @QuickHitRecord- sorry man, I did not mean to hijack your thread...it was your impressive footage that prompted me to dig out my iscomorphot and give it some use again...albeit with a 'chop shop' drink-inspired makeover :)   Ps- I picked mine up for £40 and the optics are not quite to the standard I would wish to sell on, as I think there are too many wiseguys selling overpriced and crusty damaged scopes as 'minty' on the bay already.
