Hi my anamorphic friend, here is a a new match I've found for my baby Hypergonar, the Pentax Cosmicar 25mm f1.4 C-mount lens, and I like the result, despite the distortion and the slight vignetting. What do you think ? (more information below)

on Canon FD 50mm f1.4 + Metabones Speed Booster
on Canon FD 35mm f2
As you can see the Canon FD work better than the Voigtlander
All the close up were taken without diopter except when it's written

Everything was shot @f4 / f5.6 except some close shot @1.9 in the first part

Focus is amazingly close with those diopters. Really lovely stuff. I liked the cat eyes, the bed shot with bright window in background and the bokeh / face parts best.

I'm working a lot these past months so I post less than usual ;)
 
Here is a teaser of the new album of Arthur H, a famous french singer. It was done before last summer, shot on GH3 + my baby Hypergonar 1.75x on my Qioptiq 35mm f1.6 MeVis-C C-mount lens.
Badfully I didn't have the GH4 yet ;)
 
My actual work is a 26mn Making Of a long feature movie, shot by me in 4K anamorphic in Ethiopia last november. Stay tune.

JGL, MJS, whatever ;) I'm liking the GH4 well, I've done a lot of work with it theses pasts months, not already online. Recently I've done a music video, and also a Making Of of a long feature movie, with two weeks shooting (in anamorphic of course) in Ethiopia. Soon online ;) 

I believe that now may be the time to reveal that I am in fact Joseph Gordon-Levitt! Andrew, I am a huge fan of your blog!!!
 
As I apply 'the method' to everything I do I have in fact been living in North East England for some time, shooting a lot of stuff with a Nikon DSLR and adopting a grouchy and abrasive persona to disguise my easy-going and gregarious nature. 

The Leone/(Kurosawa inspired  ;)) 'Dollar' aka Spaghetti Westerns looked great!
 
I too have found the GH4 with a tweaked Cinelike D profile and a soft lens (e.g. Voigtlander 25mm F.95 wide open) to look magical on the GH4 in 4K.
 
The most filmic images have lots of detail but are also soft in the sense there are zero digital artifacts. Using a soft lens and/or a Tiffen pro-mist (et al) filter / nylon stocking really helps bring the image into unreality, away from the video look.

Angenieux was THE lens of choise of all THE FRENCH NEW WAVE directors
Jean Luc Godard , Francois Truffaut etc
 
also Sergio Leone shot all the Clint Eastwood 'Dollar' Films on Angenieux too
the 25-250mm T3.5 was the single lens used for 95% of these films.

I like this film. the shot of manhattan island from the boat in time lapse or high speed was thrilling. Very good shots in this film.
