Thank you for continuing to post tests, Procter.

Seems to be it's not THAT easy to get in focus, but when it does, it's nice?  Quite a bit of this footage has that slightly out of phase look of a focused taking lenses and slightly out adapter, to me.

I liked this moment, a lot.

Still on the fence, but getting closer.

Er...Tony...I'll be making a movie on this China Anamorphot or one just like it...15 minutes of messing around run and gun is EXACTLY what we needed to see from day one with this thing, and we need to see more of it from other adapters.

Just when I think I've looked everywhere, I find another source and another video...one of the better looking things I've seen with the Letus, but weirdly, suffering from artefacts I'd expect to see on my LA7200.  No silver bullet that says, 'buy it', yet.  Still torn between diopters for the LA7200 (almost there Tito, sorry), and an SLR Magic...or both.

Yeah, @procter not sure it's about seeing a blade-runner II so much as seeing something like what Sean just posted for the SLR Magic...5-10 minutes of footage in differing situations focusing on the fly, moving around, etc.  Letus has been quiet about answering questions and most clips are short.  If you want to sell it, maybe you should shoot some more hahah :)

Wow Sean, thank you.  Someone needs to do this for the Letus, too haha.  Answers a few questions and just seeing that much natural footage puts my mind at ease.  I'd ruled out the SLRMagic for a number of reasons, now I'm trying to figure out how I can buy one immediately and not preorder from England!!!

You also do a great job of explaining in one place the benefits of 1.33x adapters, some of which, (vertical field of view and what-not) I had previously filed under 'it just looks different', now I know why :)...

We agree on 1.33x lenses in general and I'm also with you on smearing in real life... 'The Mission' is a great inspirational example of this for me, Academy Award Winning Anamorphic Cinematography...edges look like an LA7200 all the time.

I know companies can't control what random people put out but these guys got preproduction GH4s and free Letus' to play with and I just think it's a waste of everyone's time.  I see enough bad LA7200 videos and know my own results that I suspect the Letus may work for me, but I'd like to know for sure before dropping $2,700.

I know people hate Panasonic lenses sometimes but I swear I'm getting a lot of mileage out of a 12-35 and an LA7200.  If I had a damn way of using the 35-100mm reliably I think I'd cave for whatever the solution was...even if it means having more than one adapter or some kind of diopter solution.  I'm just afraid of being light on close-ups shots and cheating some in and cropping is fine but it's not the same as we know well.

There were a lot of issues with that review, if I remember correctly, it came out just after the thing was released and was much discussed over on BMCuser.

I have seen a lot of twitter people with their hands on the adapter about to test who suddenly go quiet or have posted nothing.  There was one on the GH4 week before last.  But no footage.  Waiting for some of that before pulling the trigger.

I got  the adapter friday last. testing, no definite conclusions as of yet.but pretty good so far.
Setting up on a 5D Mrk3,  full frame. Very easy to use. doesn't really flare that much.
    You can pull focus.
you can  switch out lenses  pretty quickly on the right rail system.
Its heavy but you can shoot hand held. (40mm canon pancake very practical)
So far very slight vignetteing on the sigma 35mm.
Big advantage seems  to be possibly to shoot wide open,( f 1.2 on 50mm canon) stays  sharp
For anyone buying; It won't really connect properly without the Letus filter rings, the lens support adapter is essential but doesn't really fix in place it just supports. Also warning it has  a quirk, it  falls in to 2 pieces when not tightened, we almost dropped the lens.
Warning; the rear element of adapter moves quite  a long way towards camera so be careful it doesn't end  up touching the glass of  your taking lens. set up with adapter set to maximum distance (another reason to buy the lets adapter i guess.)

Thanks for putting a thoughtful review into the wild, I feel like this camera has not been as explored in depth online as many others have.

I've got to disagree on handling and battery life...I used it on an extremely grueling shoot last Friday after a few days of half assed testing and thing was a joy.  Got heavy in the hand by midnight but other than that...I popped an adhesive z-finder frame on it and just shot...I guess I love the DSLR form factor, so it depends on what your tastes are.  Battery seemed really healthy, and with only two I was able to rotate, never going under half full all day long.

I was also amazed at the stills I could pull from the 4K stream, especially at 100 shutter which I cheated up to now and then without affecting my love for the video image.  Still too expensive, not something I can see justifying for either corporate business in Panama or spending the money for cinema applications that could be spent on talent, food, transportation, etc, but I do wish one of these cameras would just fall in my lap, it'd be the only thing I'd shoot on for the next year or so anyways.
