JR Lipartito got a reaction from Juank in Fuji X-T4
I think Fuji is smart to hold off on the X-H2 and put out this "evolutionary" XT4 as a stopgap. One of the problems with the X-H1 was that it just inherited old sensor and processor tech from the X-T2 and put it into a better body.  So it was a little underwhelming from the start and easily upstaged when the XT3 came out little more than a year later with X-Trans 4 and X-Processor 4.

Rather than repeat the same mistake, they're putting out the X-T4 with IBIS and new battery giving X-H1 owners a viable upgrade path (imperfect as the ergonomics are) while buying themselves enough time (maybe six months to a year) to perfect a new X-Trans 5 sensor and X-Processor 5 for the X-H2, which will establish it as the true flagship. All models after that will inherent tech from the X-H2, including the X-T5, rather than the other way around.
Will they lose some customers along the way? Maybe, but it will pale in comparison to what they will gain with the revolution of X-Trans 5 and the rebirth of the X-H.

Are people not happy with the focusing system of the X-T3? Maybe not dual-pixel AF, but easily as good as Sony’s implementation on their cameras, no?
I wouldn’t hold my breathe on the R5 just yet, I know everyone is losing their shit over the potential of it (and rightly so if it turns out to be as good as it sounds) but never underestimate Canon’s ability to really screw things up, especially when something is suddenly leap-frogging all their current hardware; I’m interested to see what their version of 8K actually entails, or the quality of their IBIS. Or, at least, the price! Assuming that rumored €9999 price is wrong, but we’ll see. If correct, it shouldn’t be in the same conversation as a $1700 X-T4.

In my view it just isn't an X-H2.
The X-H2 body feels twice as expensive and twice as robust as an X-T3.
It feels like Fuji took the safe and cheap option. Definitely not a bad camera but I need that X-H2 at some point. They better not have cancelled it.
    Plus where is anamorphic mode?

I am hoping the 3 xf lenses that are suppose to be released in 2020 are updated 23 1.4, 35 1.4, 56 1.2. With fuji really advancing in video, they desperately need these to be usable for video.

Loved the early look at the camera. Was a huge fan of the XT3. Ultimately decided to stay with my GH5 because of IBIS and flip screen. Now the XT3 has it. My wife has the XE3 with the 16-55 and 35mm 1.4– being in the same ecosystem would make projects a lot simpler to pack for.
Would love to see the Viltrox primes announced soon though, the Fuji 35mm 1.4 is slow and loud for focus.

If that's a data sheet for the sensor and the x-t4 is not going to have 6K, I think I know how Fuji can differentiate the x-h2 from the t4 😎

I don't feel this way. The X-T3 is an awesome camera and many have said, how much they like the camera. If asked what was missing in the last months, no one said 6K or 4K 120fps. It was IBIS and better battery life all the time. The X-T4 seems to deliver just that. If they manage to get the price close to the X-T3 price, that's an outstanding value.

As a small camera, I'll be happy with X-H2 style X-T4... Basically the X-H1 body design but with X-T3 video specs and a bit extra, like an anamorphic mode.
    Doesn't have to be 6K or 4K 120fps!
I will always need a good Super 35mm option for my Arriflex lenses and LOMO OCT19
Anamorphic better suited to S35 as well.
Not everything has to be a full frame R5 monster cam and cost $4000!

Today I am told there is no 6K/60p.
Maybe they can do 6K/24p, or most likely it will stick to 4K/60p.
However the rest makes it all worth it.
Can't wait until the announcement later this month.

The upscaling software is Topaz gigapixel for video, this software is in current closed beta for developers and testers to use, is not in the web page.
But, since I'm in the beta test page, i can provide a link:

Good news for us, we can now sell everything and shoot on an iPhone knowing that somebody in 100 years will neural-network the footage to make it look like its shot on an Alexa.

I'd love if there was a 10 bit H264 option so I don't have to always transcode files. Anywho though its not the body that matters as much as the lenses too me. Full frame bodies aren't usually a biggie, its those gigantic lenses.

If this camera doesn't overheat and doesn't perform worse in the rolling shutter department than the X-T3, I will give Fujifilm my money instantly. I haven't been this excited since I bought my first X100-series camera.

A lot of what most everyone wanted improved on the X-T3 were features already on the X-H1. So I guess they decided they need only one professional stills/video hybrid moving forward that has everything, rather than artificially segment two flagships.  I just hope it’s not too much more expensive than the X-T3...
Maybe then they can beef up the X-T40 abut you close the gap that a supercharged X-T4 will make.

If you care about photography so much that a moderate hit in quality in extreme conditions bother you then buy a Panasonic G9 / S1R instead

It’s funny, because every review I read of the Sigma FP, they always marked it as a negative that it “only” had an electronic shutter, for a camera clearly geared towards video.
Dinosaurs roaming amongst us I suppose.

No need for a mechanical shutter on the S1H IMHO, very few people are getting it who care a lot about photos.

Fuji is super photo centered though, I'd image they'd keep it unless they continue with a video centered XH line.

However a GHxS or SxH series from Panasonic totally should do away with the mechanical shutter and have a multi stage ND filter instead

The X100V was just released. It has a 4 stop nd filter built in. It seems to not work in video for some reason. But why not add this into the X-T4 and blow everyone away?
