Hyperbole, fearmongering, exaggerations. This reads like a clickbaity Breitbart article.

Hilariously bad compared to an a6500; not even remotely in the same class.

I consider the condition to be very good, though I'm no optical engineer. There are no serious blemishes, haze, marks on the glass - aside from a few tiny specs that you’d expect with a vintage lens (none of which affect the image as far as I can tell).
It's sharp, the focus is smooth and flares a gorgeous orange flare with good light source. Used with the Tokina achromat, it’s WOW.
    Here’s everything:
    - Iscorama Pre 36 anamorphic lens
    - Iscorama taking lens with Nikon mount
    - Tokina 72mm +0.4 achromat with original box and leather case. Ex+ condition
    - Variable ND filter 77mm with 72-77 step up ring AND 1.2 ND filter
    - Large custom built step up ring 52-55mm for mounting on other lenses, that aren’t the Iscorama taking lens.
    - Original lens cap (for collection) 72mm - but it doesn't really stay on
    - OPTIONAL: 55mm 1.8 SMC Takuma (the maximum focal distance for full frame).
    - New, better lens cap for use 72mm and rear Nikon lens cap for Iscorama taking lens
    - A nice sturdy Pelican Case!
Well taken care of by photographer / filmmaker in L.A. Stored in pelican case most of the time.
I’ll put into up on Ebay for 3000 later, but on here for 2800 USD. L.A. pickup would be great. For now US only.
I can also throw in a nice SMC Takumar 55mm (M42) lens which is really nice for full frame cameras, if you like.

As it happens, I have paired this lens with a bolex anamorphot. It's "OK" - definitely sharp but you get ugly flares because of the modern multi-coating and I always get a crap ton of purple fringing with new Zeiss's.

Generally, zoom lens has disadvantage, IMO.  I used 70-210 with Elmoscope II on FF camera  Need at least 100mm to get rid of vignettes.  And at 210mm end, the IQ is poorer too.  Usually, fixed focal prime lens filter thread size is smaller then zoom lens with the same aperture.  Or other words, with the same size filter thread, prime lens has larger aperture to use.

I would think OM lenses, 49mm front thread, even if 50 1.2, very sharp.  Nikon 50 E 1.8 pancake lens is another consideration.

As a rule of thumb, simple recipe lenses do work best & the least amount of MC the better.
A good copy of the Helios 44-2 58mm f2 is one of the best, if not the best.
The Super-Takumar 55mm f1.8 or 50mm 1.4 are good (not the SMC versions).
The Nikon Ai-s 50mm f1.8 pancake, as are the other ai-s lenses (don't go E version, they're not in the same league).
As for 35mm, I have found the Mir-24M 35mm f2 (M42 mount) is an amazing lens.
But in the end it's all about personal taste, so it's your choice/opinion that counts.

Oh, I don't know there are different version.  I thought pancake lens are E version.  You are right.  E version is AI lens.
But I really mind radioactive lens, especially majority  of Super-Takumar.  And also yellowish is not good color too.
I said OM 50 1.2 might be the only f1.2 lens with 49mm filter thread.

I've been using mine with the Helios 44-2, and a pancake vintage Nikon 50mm. Both are great, the Nikon is much sharper though to me at least.

No mater what, you have to adjust both lenses. What I do (or did before I got the Rectilux) is estimate the distance to the object, set both lenses to that distance, then tweak them both until it's sharp.

I have the Bolex Moller 8/19/1.5 and use it with a Rectilux and it’s very sharp indeed. Particularly if I add on a Tokina Achromat 0.4, and good lighting. Hair on the nose sharp. Focus wise, it's very good although I cannot use a follow focus with the Rectilux because the whole focus ring moves in and out as you pull focus.
Before I had the Rectilux, I actually didn't pull focus. What I did was set my focal point and stay there until it was time for a new shot, using hand-held and moving the camera back and forth (slowly) to readjust focus. Run n gun. The $300 MustHD monitor is good because it’s cheap and you can record and play back at the 1.5 aspect ratio of the Bolex. Very cool. Now all I need is a project to shoot!

John Barlow has the following advise:
"Yes some customers experience issues with the grease and some with noise. I have traced the issue to when the package is in the low pressure cargo hold of the aircraft. This causes some grease to be sucked away from the helical during flight. The noise or movement is because some part of the helical is without grease. Rectilux was designed for easy self-maintenance as shown on page 37 of the manual. Sometimes it is best to use a brush to spread the grease uniformly. Rectilux will be smoother after a bedding in period and will be a lot quieter - the more you use it the better it will become. Mobil grease can be obtained here:

I had the same problem with a bit of metallic vibration and it just felt a bit loose so I re-greased mine. It's stiffened up nicely now but be careful not to put too much, the more you put the harder it will be to turn plus it could 'leak' all over the glass.

I recently had a dramatic situation at my house where I had to grab the things that were most valuable to me. I grabbed a few hard drives and my Bolex Moller 8/19/1.5 ;o)
It pairs really well with my 50 Karl Zeiss Jena 1.8 as well as some old Nikon AI-S lenses. My brand new Rectilux is being tinkered with right now and I'm getting some good sharpness with this three lens combo. (See still). Although I've lost my close focus but I'll take that loss now that I can focus quickly.
