I hope in the future as the VFX tools we have at hand get better and as crew awareness increases then we'll be able to happily have booms in shot much more often for the sake of improved sound. This is already common place on many shoots such as "House of Cards", and advancing VFX technology will lead to an expansion of situations booms can be put into shot.

is there anyone use his/her bm for street "photography" ? Since I don't want to carry another camera, I shoot quite a bit at low shutter angle and just grab still frame from it. The resolution works quite well for me since instagram is my main publishing platform

Yeah, this can't be overstated.
All of the critical differences mentioned in discussions are in blown up stills.
Actual running footage, let alone footage compressed for broadcast and web delivery, is simply indistinguisable to a viewer. Period.
I did a blind test with a few people at different times in the studio the other day and the responses were exactly what I expected - "What difference am I supposed to see...they all look the same" kind of stuff.
What people should be talking about is how "organic" and "film like" Braw and Gen 4 processed in Resolve actually look. It's sort of the Holy Grail that so many people have been looking for.
4k, raw, detail, file size, smooth roll off in shadows and highlights, deep accurate colors, ease of editing.
The only people still debating the issue aren't the ones shooting with the new cameras and codecs. The debate is over for all of them/us.
 

I used BRAW for a big project all last week and I agree with you. No reason for Prores for me moving forward.

After shooting with an FS7 for years at my work, I just found Sony cameras to be a total PITA. The menu system alone. If you haven't tried a BM camera before you'll be in heaven just from a usability standpoint. They are simple and to the point. Beautifully so. I don't want to spend weeks getting used to a menu system. It keeps me from doing what I'm there to do. I know I'm both exaggerating and dramatic, but not really.

Everyone talking about how much easier things would be if this camera were the Micro. That thing is a pain in the ass. I love it, but real pain. Nothing easy, not small, really when you have to add everything to it.  Comparing to Pocket 4k - which, all you need now is the camera, lens and SD with BRAW. 

If you want a bit of an insight into how relatively rare this camera still is in the wild, I doubled the amount of Pocket 4K cameras that were being used at the BVE Expo in London today when I got mine out of my bag.
I plonked it down on a table that Zeiss had left brochures on but abandoned to setup my app and immediately drew a crowd who thought I was an exhibitor.
Of course I did not disabuse any of them of this belief and promptly started demoing the living daylights out of my app.

No rush!  There are higher priorities and hopefully what we learn here will be useful for a long time to come

I love me the Contax Zeiss lenses. Had a set of f/2.8s already (representing the Distagons are the 25, 28mm and 35mm. Then there’s the Tessar 45mm (which kinda is a pancake lens). For a bit more reach the Sonnar 85mm and 135mm), except for the 50mm which is a Planar f/1.4. Just a few days ago I've gotten a super mint and boxed condition 28mm f/2 'Hollywood' in to really bring the Contax Zeiss-theme home. A bit harder is completing a Summicron-R set, of which I only have the Leica Summicron-R 35 and 50mm f/2 E55 ('Leica' badged, but can be found cheaper as Leitz, Leitz Canada or Leitz-Wetzlar editions). Of course you can go the opposite direction with e.g. a set of Pentax Takumars, Canon FDs or Nikon Ai(-s). Or what a lot of us here love as well, Russian Zenit primes... think: HELIOS, JUPITER, INDUSTAR, MIR & TAIR ones. So much love for vintage lenses. Built like tanks back in the day and so full of character. And... might be more interesting to buy an oldschool 50mm for under a hundo than one of the new ones that costs you a kidney. In my searches for vintage lenses to make my GH5 more organic looking I came upon the Contax Zeiss lenses, and then yesterday I found this video...
It's basically the dream team of organic classic aesthetic - Contax Zeiss primes, BMPCC, Metabones SB, Tiffen Variable ND.
Personally I think one of the lenses is a bit soft for my tastes, but overall it isn't bad.  [Edit: actually I think the softness is a combination of missing focus and stopping down too much, so not the lenses].
I've seen better BMPCC videos (lots of talented people used that camera) but overall it should be positively dripping with the look we're chasing.

I'll keep that in mind too. It probably won't see a ton of heavy use outside of long recording sessions which I rarely do. I will definitely use it on short films though. Maybe I'll fall in love with RAW and be using it all the time though.

Looks like Blackmagic Raw isn't to far away! Someone from the Blackmagic forum went to a Blackmagic camera masterclass and noticed the P4K was running firmware with Blackmagic Raw installed. 

Shooting first location up in the mountains this weekend. Will post next week.

BM Raw coming soon?

I don't know about full RAW but 3:1 is a dream in Resolve too. Meanwhile I was given a job that was a mixture of Sony A7SII and Fuji Xt3 and my MacPro choked on it. It was horrible.
