  1. Ed, you could never hear from me that he or someone else is superior to anyone. For a simple reason if not else, I don't take success as a rank to classify people. Some other attributes are much crucial to my sensibility and judgement : ) I don't know details on the Lance Armstrong story and I surely don't take as granted everything I read on Internet. For some reason I'd rather take my filmmaking background over my, or anyone's legal realm any time. Courts are the most unfaithful jungles out there. It doesn't shock me at all someone to lie under oath if so. There are reasons beyond our own understanding more often than we should. Ah the public... Instead, shocks me to know there are innocent people under death penalty because the system or someone decided so. And nobody or too little care. I don't have how to believe in Santa. As far as Andrew's episode, I've tried to bring any humble potential I can, using diplomacy between such two sides I have a friendly connection with, only in order to not result any harm to any one. Because they simply don't deserve. Both of them. They know what I think. I hope to not be disappointed. We're discussing RED because we live in a free society and someone has opened a thread on topic : D On Hydrogen project, it's a hybrid, we can't say the cup is full but is different to be half empty. I've heard it's a product ahead of its time, more than a phone outdated each six months (E : -)
  2. Entrepreneurs create concepts, let alone jobs and tools when it's the case as it happened there. Offer and demand. Markets. Progress.
  3. Yes, you're also right. Even though, let's not forget RED helped to 5DII came out as well as nathlas accurately left expressed, the most closer serious contender by then was EUR 103,000 (Cinealta F900) I well recall if not else because I was in the middle of a cooperative project only to afford one unit. I myself jumped out the RED wagon as far as investment concerns when 5DII just arrived. My purchase is from early 2009 and I even produced a feature shot on this camera model among several other projects shot on VDSLR as called then, this one ending where we aimed for once shot directly to the big screen: http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?121856-Kickstarter-campaign Still here are three threads by my initiative on reduser before I had joined Andrew when he created our community. The last one on a film-out report. The 2nd one counts among others with the participation of Graeme Nattress himself (the man behind RED's compressed RAW): http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?20506-More-Canon-5D-Mark-II-footage http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?22403-New-Canon-5D-Mark-II-samples http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?29404-5D-Mark-II
  4. I'm sorry my fellow of boards, but such comparisons are truly unfair to say the least. I've had my portion of personal contact with his people, work and company for a decade and a half now. Without mention to have had the privilege of private touch with the legend himself. Such antihero portrait is crappy lower resolution at best. Myth. Stinky sad one. Maybe if he would be a fool, he would equally bashed by usual detractors in a way or another. It doesn't make justice to the individual who some other people have dealt with for real in the world over here. On your compressed RAW remark, let's see: They were the beginners to do it. Any doubt? Nothing else counts for the matter. Would you do it in a different way? In the name of who or what? They only protect their property.
  5. He's a legend made by himself. Without him, we'd never have the prices as low as we have today. I heard this from the mouth of a Sony VP in person. The story on his health needs which taken him away to his deserved retirement is not new BTW. Just made public now. He's a warrior, this fight has years. He didn't stop, he kept it going. As well his inventive market introductions. Massively distributed. Ahead of his time. Unique master of his craft. An example but for every producer. He is one of the key factors of the digital revolution. We owe him our tools of nowadays. We really should appreciate gratitude. It's disgusting otherwise.
  6. What a combo to add to this device I really love... (well said BTW) Absolutely irresistible : -)
  7. Fully understandable. Thanks for your report. A shame. I don't understand their communication. Really. Have shown my discontentment before as you well know. A happy camper brings some more to the party. One client lost is forever. E : -)
  8. As much as I can enter in your house invited by you and someone else doesn't call my presence there. It's nothing about IQ. As much as I guess Netflix wouldn't refuse to serve their audiences with LVT's Idioterne shot two decades ago on DV: If someone here has anything to be financed by Netflix, please let me know. I can be interested to put my money there -- that is, who knows will my money get Netflix approval...?! Thanks LOL ; ) Maybe a faulty unit, Andrew? I am telling so because my P4K never had one single fail so far! So I don't see the reason why P6K version should? : -)
  9. What a poison such internet can be... *sigh* Fortunately, there's real world out there.
  10. Two completely distinct tech realms. Jim Jannard is an enthusiast. I realize some people don't understand him and become too obsessed with their billions. Not a good show to see. Really.
  11. No matter a few passions of our own, I only think people should take a better scope on their human nature. No one is above that. Not even a single industry made by man. Technology is made by man. Economy too. So, includes that one. There are no endless ones. I find certain comments disingenuous but in all its extent to be rather honest over there.
  12. Health is everything we actually have, but not unlimited to everyone of us. Money, more or less, just the capacity we are able to understand our skills have succeeded. Jim made us to realize how good and possible is to see our dreams to become true. E : -)
  13. Just arrived from shooting. Improved and faster AF (tap to focus) in low light situations : -)
  14. Done. Just tested and right in time for a shooting scheduled for tonight. Thanks. A few AF tests performed with a cheap Lumix 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 in low light (6:45PM in Western Europe right now) EXT-INT (street buildings from town landscape to a monitor LCD inside the office only a few feet over there). Fast as a shark and damned accurate in any of my early tests. Much impressed and really improved. Looks like a different camera unit... 75 -> 25 fps adds something there as well. My fav modes from now on. Anamorphic modes, oh well, no need for additional comments. Any of this for the 6K model as well? Absolutely... perfect update : P Kudos to you BMD, you're definitely the camera manufacturer number one in 2019 -- who shoots with a Blackmagic won't want to look back ever again... what a tool! And a joy to play with : ) Simply anyone can operate with one. Easier than any of the usual suspects with those nonsense labyrinth menus totally unfriendly to the sake of the art. This is the way! Elitism is over on filmmaking nowadays, thanks to these Aussies! : -) https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/support/ https://forum.blackmagicdesign.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=101259
  15. Impossible to omit the 2nd season with that unforgettable Maya from the planet Psychon! : -) http://catacombs.space1999.net/main/cguide/uccm.html Who else here her fan?
  16. ...from your childhood, teens, well, that stuff, you know ; -) As you see, the better IQ the more future proof the content is ; -) Yours from your chest of memories?
  17. Hold the breath while brexit doesn't pop up... *sigh* LOL : -) https://www.proav.co.uk/events/colour-management-production-ollie-kenchington/ Colour Management in Production • Achieving accurate white balance. • White balancing in mixed light scenarios. • Achieving accurate exposure. • Exposing with log curves • Colour gamuts and matrices Colour Correction in Post-Production • How to balance contrast • How to balance colour • Colour primaries and secondaries • Perfecting skin tones • Creating continuity target: • Skill Level - Intermediate to Advanced • Camera Operators, Editors, Filmmakers. • Owners of any brand / style of video camera PS: Funny, Alister Chapman (xdcam man, dvinfo.net, etc) is going around along some other workshops over there...
  18. The proof is in the pudding ; -) 7T is impressively, I'd say, improved...? Here's another comparison of both 7T and 7 Pro with the original 7 version now: https://www.gsmarena.com/piccmp.php3?idType=5&idCamera1=300600&idCamera2=300622&idCamera3=300600 7 7T 7 Pro
  19. It's not only 8MP resolution and telephoto lens related. Take a look on this comparative sample coming from the 25.7-25.75mm (35mm equivalent terms) lens, even though not over the new 7T Pro version still to be provided by the usual gsmarena tool once not yet available there (iPhone 11 Pro Max 12MP sensor is introduced among them only as 3rd comparison term): https://www.gsmarena.com/piccmp.php3?idType=5&idPhone1=9846&idCamera2=300622&idCamera3=300600 Same Sony IMX586 48MP sensor. 7T 7 Pro
  20. The problem with our contemporary societies is the fact we become too spoiled people like misbehaving kids waiting for Santa no matter what. Acting fulfilled of vicious whims. I wonder how people who lived the WWI or WWII or yet any of the recent conflicts in the Middle East as for instance might see this Western nonsense. I am ashamed to say the least.
  21. No idea, including if viable going along any extra app... However, it is possible to download 7T Pro samples (source: Android Authority) from here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1s4IVkkQmNtR6Jcgs_zBAG4EBdkFDup_t Maybe is there any clue from those samples? Didn't check, actually. Here's a new comparison with the new entry from Google vs OnePlus stock camera (not gcam):
