I think when you're talking about recording on the T5 drives, rather than unwieldy external screen based recorders, the whole internal/external definition becomes a bit moot.
Conceptually, its not actually that far removed from RED drives (aside from the "proprietary" media) and no one considers that to record externally.
There are locking solutions for USB-C that could easily enable an after market "cartridge" type of housing and the SmallRig solution is a neat one.
Hard to tell without taking it outdoors really but in terms of using it in combination with the loupe, I've used that same on my Sigma SD0 (and even put an LCD in it to make a cheap EVF  ) and its very solid and with it on the FP we weren't having any difficulty hitting focus.....
Well if they were, then as this was pretty much the response from me and @Andrew Reid when they mentioned the price they'll hopefully take that into account in their final calculations

The Fp seems like the next big indie hit. A lot of good ideas in such a small body can make the difference.
"Interestingly I also bumped into Sigma CEO Kazuto Yamaki at the show and had some small-talk. I had my venerable Samsung NX1 with me, and he remarked that the product manager for the NX1 went to work for Sigma’s camera team on the Fp! So they are in good hands as this camera was genuinely ground-breaking and ergonomic."
Maybe planning an interview with the product manager would be super interesting.

Oh surely it will shoot 6k. But in 15fps, with autofocus and manual exposure disabled. And the IBIS will only work with 3 supported lenses and only when shooting 480p upside down.

It’s funny you say that, when I glanced at the patent photos, of their IBIS tech, I thought I was looking at schematics for an old watch.
With that being said, I’d love to have Canon IS level stabilization on all of my lenses.

Unless Apple implements a ToF sensor in the front, they are just doing "smart/zone" bracketing, which is wholly in the Android domain of possibility. None of the discussed samples feature fast movement, just landscapes and portraits and Dpreview is not all that impressed at the pixel level.
Hopefully, Android OEMs push for bigger sensors at the same time, since apple is very much afraid of thicker phones. Bracketing, fast readout and bigger sensors would be really push mobile photography further.

It’s the future of the Cmos sensor but it seems that it takes a long time to set up. Beauviala (Aaton camera creator) had written an interesting text three years ago already.

I don't want my face enhanced in any way.
I fail to see how this is any better that super quick HDR with more merged shots as the processing power increases (with "beautification" applied at the end? That Apple presentation photo is a very good example at how they can blow up any little feature to seem like a whole new world.
Someone please tell me who decides what the hell is "the best part of a photo"?

Read it and weep, fanboy. Looks like Apple is also omitting crucial information (although, the new generation should be less limited).
Edit: Apparently, you can record front and rear cameras at the same time on Android for 3 years now: https://smartfilming.blog/2018/04/17/12-recording-video-with-both-front-and-rear-cameras-simultaneously-on-android/

@Andrew ReidDear Andrew, from the article it seems that you are in a good contact with Panasonic reps.
Could you please ask them to include a focus assist (magnification) during recording or at least ask why this so important feature is not included in the gh5(s) and also not in the S1? Sony with their A7x line has it included and you find this feature in all broadcast cameras (Sony fs5,fs7, Canon C100-500)
It is such an important feature for so many people who are shooting documentary, reports, television and so on. If you can't plan a scene focus wise you really need this feature to be sure you are in focus.
You can't really judge focus even in Full HD but especially not in 4k. Also the great viewfinder of the S1 will not help. Its not about the resolution of a EVF or LCD, its about the inability of the human eye to really be sure you are focused.
We really need a focus magnification during recording (even 2x would be great and enough, if more is not possible).
It would be so nice if you could come up with this issue if it happens that you talk with them again. If I write them an email it will not get to the right people. I think it is so easy to implement via firmware upgrade and processing power can't be an issue anymore (at least in the s1) to include it also during recording.
Thank you so much if you could do that. I love the GH5 and will love the S1. But this is such an important feature it nearly lets me switch back to cameras like the FS5/7, C300...
    Best

One of the (many) problems with the patent system is that the patent holder has the full power of the government behind them to enforce it, and if you think their patent is based on bullsh*t then you have a very tough, very expensive, uphill battle to be free of their patent.

So if you're an extremely small and niche company such as Sonosax then it makes no sense at all to even try to fight Zaxcom just to be able to sell your product in one particular market, even if you feel their patent was granted on the most flimsy of reasons.

Even Tascam, who is a much much much bigger company than Zaxcom, still saw no point in trying to fight it out with Zaxcom because their patent only impact just one product that Tascam makes, which represents but the tiniest fraction of the overall company. Is much easier for them to just tweak the design so the patent can be ignored than to fight the legal case.

Seems though that one company has finally said enough is enough, and is going to battle it out, when Zaxcom picked a fight with Lectrosonics. Am sure all the other companies are just holding their breath to see how this turns out, if Lectrosonics wins, expect heaps of firmware updates overnight for all the various recording/transmitting products to be fully enabled such as from Audio Ltd and Deity.

That is why the standard version of the Sonosax SX-R4+ can't be sold in the USA! And they had to make a special (read: crippled) version for the USA.

Zaxcom patents/lawyers have meddled in lots of other ways too, such as with the Tascam DR10, Audio Ltd A10, or the Lectrosonics PDR, or harassing Newsshooter.com

And we're holding our breath to see if Zaxcom responds legally against the new MixPre Gen 2 or the Zoom F6

Exactly. It shows 4 screens including the selfie camera. And then you have the option of choosing 2 for recording the video on.
iPhone events add too much of hype. That's their raison d'être I guess. Each time they have a smartphone, they make it seem like the Alexa or Medium format has become redundant.

Maybe the next EOSHD camera challenge should be:
Make a video with your smartphone (have a list of approved phones; several generations of android and iPhone). For example, no models lower than an iPhone 7. Make it as cinematic as possible.
Make another video with the camera you own with a cap of nothing more expensive than say $2500.
Don’t tell people what the videos where filmed on then ask them to guess: phone or DSLR?
Have a vote ranking for each. Not sure what the prizes should be.
Pretty sure I saw a picturing showing they filmed some of these promos with a wonkier cinema lens setup hooked up to an iPhone and said it was filmed on an iPhone. 🤣
