ND64 got a reaction from Emanuel in Sony Product Announcement - 26/01/21
Not completely. 8k HDMI output is 8bit only. Full frame 4k is pixel binned at all frame rates.

And the housing is a cheap plastic that cracks easily and causes horrible misalignments. An optics company.. they're certainly not.

If Apple was interested to have a pro camera business, they would buy RED. They didn't.

ND64 reacted to RawZion in My opinion on the Zeiss ZX1
I really don't see the point of this Zeiss camera, besides conspicuous consumption.
Earlier this year I rented a Nikon Z6 to try it out and was blown away by the in-camera raw photo editing capabilities. Not quite Lightroom, but the best I'd ever seen in a camera. And of course it (like my Sony a7iii) can transmit photos and videos to my smartphone via an app for sharing or further editing. So I really don't get the point of this Zeiss camera, besides the Zeiss name (and of course you can put a Zeiss lens on a Nikon).
B&H has the Nikon z7II at $3,046. You can then put any lens on it, but if we're sticking to the comparison let's go with the Nikon Z 35mm 1.8, which B&H has at $696. I rented that lens (see example shots below), and it was excellent, but I ended up buying the Rokinon 35mm Cine t1.5 since I like doing everything manually.
So with Nikon you're spending $3,742, and have a camera that can do way more than the Zeiss, has more resolution and way more video options, and of course it can even switch lenses. What's the point of the extra $2,258?

Impossible is strong word for a technical limitation like that.

ND64 got a reaction from Sharathc47 in Z6 II and Z7 II mirrorless cameras
Not defending this crop nonsense, but 1.7x crop video is same as 1.5x crop in still. The number is bigger because of 16:9 ratio.

Nikon is not in the list of h265 licensees.

Camera control board shouldn't report 65c in 8k recording.

ND64 got a reaction from Daai in Canon EOS R5 / R6 overheating discussion all in one place
Imagine they release a firmware fix that removes their media alert limits. It will be the first official admission that they used cripple hammer. Its embarrassing either way.

ND64 reacted to Danyyyel in Sony A7S III
And work in harsh tropical conditions with very hard light, high temperatures and monsoon rains. Until now zero shutdown or any malfunctions. From all the Nikon bodies this is my most preferred body, at worst I keep it in its cage even for photos As I prefer a little bit larger bodies. Because it serves me so well in photos also even when I worked on Film set as set photographer, shooting between it and d810, I had no problem thinking I was looking in an actual viewfinder.

What I discovered is that most of camera reviewers are either incapable of distinguishing a high resolution image from lower detailed image, or just lie about that.

Its also a journalism scandal.. among all those talking heads and early hands on public figures, only one guy tested it as a hybrid camera, which means combination of still and video shooting, in real world situation, and reporting any abnormal behavior of the device and answering people's questions with clear answers, politely.

ND64 got a reaction from PannySVHS in No culture or heritage in Nikon's Z series
Almost nobody in its target customers buy that beast for video. And when it comes to still shooting there is no meaningful difference between D6 and 1DX. I don't know why you think every single camera that a camera maker releases should be a video workhorse. And a lot of video spec you assume "essential" is only appealing for a very small number of people. Honestly I've never heard a wedding photographer say "it would be nice if my camera had internal raw video recording". Most of them don't even know how to grade, and hate large files. I would instead bash Nikon for not offering cinematic picture profile, which is exactly what these people need.

99.5% of people don't like a hefty heavy bulky camera. The public perception that a bigger camera take "pro" photos is already dying. And as someone who have seen many repair shops I assure you those attributes has nothing to do with "toughness" and durability. In fact in some cases Z6 internal components are more secured than D850. The only thing Zs needed was vertical grip which they gonna provide. Addressing dual slot also has no reason other than responding to internet hysteria.
But I agree with you about Z7 pricing.

Its 2020 and we still beg camera makers to think more about practicality.

ND64 reacted to Andrew - EOSHD in Inspecting the Fuji GFX 100, and having a cup of tea
It puts buying the same lens twice because you forgot you already own it in the shade. That's for sure.
Good job the shop owner in Barcelona was an honest fellow, he could have played it to his advantage!
All the F1 stuff is done, and I've got race car fuel all over me... I am a bit combustable and face has gone red. That's what happens I guess when you have 150 laps each from 22 cars circling you for 3 days.
The GFX 100 is worth its weight in repeat lens purchases.
At least I can now stop buying cameras!
It's the end-game*

ND64 reacted to Andrew - EOSHD in Canon EF to Nikon Z adapter by Fringer, is really good
I've been playing around with it and can't fault it really. In fact for me, so far, it's been more reliable than Nikon's own FTZ adapter.
All my EF lenses have worked on it even old weird shit like Tokina 28-70 F2.6
It works well in video mode and has so far been far more reliable and bullet proof than Techart E-mount adapter for Nikon Z.
Going to continue to test but it looks like we did finally get that full frame 4K camera from Canikon.

"A must for colour blind photographers!"
Or colour blind cameras for that matter!

ND64 reacted to Andrew - EOSHD in How is this funded? Mega rich YouTubers
Must be some very wealthy sponsors involved, most artists I know don't have 1 million dollars a year to spend on stuff they don't actually need.
So if we are seeing extreme gentrification of the internet, with nothing but hipsters, then count me out.
