I dont' know how much i trust this test... I have a 5d3 and have shot Cinestyle and the GH4 easily has a stop or 2 better for video than the 5d3 in h264 video.

The problem is mostly chalked up to 8bit.  You really picked a really tough shot to shoot right there didn't you?   

So, I started with the 12-35 on the GH3 thinking it's the perfect all around lens. It sort of is. Very sharp. Light. Compared to the Sigma lenses and Zeiss lenses it looks very sterile though. I started using the Sigma 18-35 when I could use a tripod and fell in love. When I needed to go handheld I just used a monopod. Now I use the Sigma almost 75% of the time.

I am curious:
 
1. I am curious as to comparisons of screen grabs between the C100, GH4 and C500.
 
2. I would like to know the Exact Flatness of C100 vs C300 vs GH4, from in-cameras, and otherwise.
 
3. Most importantly, how much Flatter does the Cinema D profile, with everything dialled down (-5 Highlights, +5 Shadows + 15 Master Pedestal) make the profile?

Exactly. I said the same thing and some idiots were ripping me and saying "plenty of docs" are still shot on a 7D.  It's easy to tell which posters shoot for a living and which ones just test cameras for fun. 

If the Sony could record for 90 minutes straight, it would be my first choice for archiving lectures and concerts.  For now, the GH4 will do fine.

It has already been used commercially by people I know. So you're wrong Leica50.

I've now owned this camera for a whopping 24 hours. Here's the first video I shot, which was to stress the codec, see how well slow-mo performed and to see how well AWB tracked. This was shot with the Zeiss FE 24-70. Other notes are on the video post. I would like an improved RS, but it wasn't an issue in this clip. 
 

I'm personally thrilled at what's happening in the consumer level marketplace with imaging.  Many of us have been waiting for this to happen for about 20 years and it's more than arrived.
 
I've paid more for handle grips on old video cam-corders than I would for an entire camera body these days.

More slow motion videos are required for proper analysis…. you know, for science.

Ok ended up getting the Nocticron and I'm glad I did. Such an amazing lens!

There is some dodgy stabilisation going on (presumably all part of the charm) but it isn't rolling shutter you're seeing.
 
Creatively I think the video succeeds. Give the pixel peeping a rest on this one guys.

4K when edited in 1080 has so many uses I don't think I could go back.  Here's an example of a video I did last week. Shot and edited in one day. No color correction, to be viewed at the wedding.  There are many shots where I cropped into a 4k image and it gave me a two camera shoot look without doing a darn thing.     The chase around the tree scene for example here.

Very nice video. It looks good on a 4K display. Downloaded the 1GB MP4 file from Vimeo (just need a free login account).
Quicktime struggles a bit with it (it might be the 50Mbps bitrate), but VLC plays is smoothly.
Can't wait to have a GH4 at the office.

Here is something else to love about this GH4 it does the stills thing pretty darn nice....this is a highly compressed jpg. cheers!

the sharper your lens the better the peaking is 
 
Carl Zeiss Planar 50mm f1.7 is peaking heaven , blue lines everywhere as its so sharp
 
 
so on older legacy lenses (60's 70's and 80's) you tend to get less peaking on screen, its a trade off .....
 
Modern Panny lenses are great lots of peaking all the time
