What do P4K owners think? Do they have to update? Do they need to? What's your impression now that P6K are already available while some people are still waiting for their backordered P4Ks?

P6k is twice the price of p4k. It's not an update but different product. It's like saying that Sony A7III is just an update to A6500 (same price difference). Not mentioning media price (p4k 60p works with cheap Samsung T5 ssd, p6k may need something much pricier).

For me p6k is not an option. My whole setup with p4k is something around p6k price. And the spec is not much different in my case: don't need 6k (even 4k is little too much for me); need slowmotion a lot, so full sensor 50p In p6k is a downgrade to me; sensor size is the only difference i like, but definitely not worth the price difference.

I dont need this camera, but i'm very happy to see it. It has the same software, which means that we will see more fixes, upgrades and more stable product.

I bloody love this camera - we are using it all the time to shoot elements for video, projection, visuals, shows, etc. It is great. For my use. I love to have latitude and no macro blocking for when grading.

I am not sitting around waiting for the next big thing (anymore). 10bit prores/raw is awesome too. With no external recorder!

    I love it too.

Records to cheap small samsung t5 ssd (handles all, including braw q0 4k 60p slow motion).

Connects to xlr directional sennheiser mic.

Love the big lcd and simple menu (all for movie, not like photo hybrids).

So easy to use: record not thinking about WB, profiles and not much about iso. Connect the same ssd to PC and start easy editing in Resolve (no transcoding, even no copy to PC, direct from ssd).

Braw is great, can choose different file sizes but maintain raw file benefits. Grading is much easier now.

Don't care about other gear anymore. Will use this camera for many years.

In my country's owners satisfaction survey the last ones,  are:

    Audi 61.5

    BMW-Mini 50.5

    VW 49.7

    First ones?

    Kia 95.1

    Mazda 95

Alfa Romeo 94.7 (Alfisti are fanatics about their cars here, it is a way of life!)

    Hyundai 94.6

If you put those people who bought BMW/Mercedes into kia/hyundai it would be something like 1.4 satisfaction :).

Satisfaction is highly correlated with expectation.

  5. I'm using sometimes nd graduated filters if not moving the camera (or sometimes on slider, when the movement is not changing light area borders).

When you can use it, the results are amazing (at least for an amateur, like me): no problem to get +3 stops of dynamic range.

When the grad is not too hard, the border is not easy to spot even if it does not fit so well to the scene.

Additionally, polarizing filter helps a little.

...But I found that I was increasingly looking for bigger and more expensive lenses with M43 than what I considered their equivalent with FF....

@metoo  :) , but on the wide side. My only lens now - FF 35mm/1.4 would be 18mm/0.7 on m4/3.. and it was soo cheap..

Just to clarify, there are two things here, the rights of the composition and the rights of the recording. Both has to be as old (exact age varies from country to country though) to be free.

Yes (there is also related law of artistic performance if he is not the composer),  completely free (in so called "public domain").

But it is very complex with lot of nuances and you never know if somebody will not accuse you (co-author, text author, different publisher...), unless you buy (with personal license) and record a music directly from an artist.

And when you buy Royalty Free License, it should cover both rights,  but you never know if somebody didn't make a mistake.. Most safe is to assume, that the right of the recording is covered correctly and the other part check twice or choose something free in this regard - if you publish in internet without geo-blocking, it is wise to use most restricted law (US and EU countries signed the same international regulations, so the law is similar with longest time from death I have seen was 70 years. Don't know about other countries).

  8. https://www.audioblocks.com/

Royalty Free stock music. Not best quality, but very nice and very affordable.

Most safe are tracks of composers who died over 70 years ago which automatically release some of their family right.

They have free 7 day trial (download 20 tracks per day for free and keep forever) and many discounts (~ 100$ per year of access).

When I published something on Youtube and automatically got claim for music right - I presented License from Audioblocks and direct link to audio file - claim was released.
