ntblowz got a reaction from independent in Canon R5 new 1.3 firmware ads CLOG3, Raw light and IPB light
only work for 4 lens atm (70-200 2.8 RF, 100-500, 600, 800), other lens will need to be updated to support it.

The 8k RAW Lite is the same file size as the 8k All-I on the R5, they should definitely do that to their other camera.

The new lite options seem to greatly reduced the heat build up inside the camera.
This guy recorded 1hr18min of 8k raw lite til battery died

ntblowz reacted to MrSMW in Super tiny Sigma 28-70mm F2.8 for mirrorless camera (E / L Mount)
It's finally arrived.
First impressions, - I really like it, - the size and weight. On my S5 with Smallrig baseplate, it's a moderate weight (a good thing as in not too light) but compact set up and when I think back to my old DSLR Nikon D3S with 24-70mm f2.8... it's a huge amount smaller and lighter and far more capable for stills, never mind video.
1/8th mist going on and then I'll be putting it's through it's paces soon enough.
I can't at this stage see the 24-105mm f4 being here for much longer...

Ran across this article on dp calling out Quentin regarding digital cinema, he and Chole are certainly an interesting pair to look out for.

The Canon VariND adapter is the only native behind lens solution for a hybrid mirrorless system AFAIK. I can’t wait to receive mine, game changer for sure.

ntblowz reacted to rdouthit in How many 'films/videos' do you 'publish' per year?
For my YouTube channel I produce 60+ a year. But when you add in client work, that easily goes up to about 200+ per year as we do promotional videos for some chains that have 300+ retail locations and each one gets a video. Of course our YouTube show is much more involved involving multiple shoots and locations for every video. I find when doing high-volume (it comes and goes based on client projects) there is very little time to stop and really think about what is being done, so growth can be limited simply doe to a lack of bandwidth. I've also done this for close to 20 years.

ntblowz got a reaction from andrgl in R5 media thread: SD, CFexpress, SSD alternative
Less glowing because of slower start up time vs other brand, but it is also the coolest cfexpress card there in terms of temperature. So far I don't have problems with it on set I've been to.

ntblowz got a reaction from Emanuel in DJI PFV Drone
So DJI is finally jumping on the the fpv wagon, I m definitely tempted as the price is similar to the DIY racing drones here. I thinking buying DJI care is a must with this drone as it is more easier to crash than other dji drones with such high speed.
How many of you are thinking to get one?

ntblowz reacted to JordanWright in Blackmagic Camera Update Feb 17
Sorry to spam the thread... had the camera for a few days now here’s some initial thoughts and tests. ND filters are great (obviously) haven’t noticed any IR pollution or colour shifts when using them yet. The biggest upgrade is the brightness of the monitor, totally usable on sunny days. I will say a lot of people have been reporting that there monitors have a blue tint and I can confirm that mine is about 300k cold. BM informed CVP that is a firmware update coming to fix this.
There is another firmware bug where it is impossible to import or delete LUts
Battery life is improved I get 1h continuous recording 6K Q5 to Cfast. (100% Screen Brightness)
The body is slightly taller making it more comfortable to hold... there is finally a place for my pinky on the grip! It is also a bit heavier in the hand.
other than that it’s basically a P6K, same IQ in a more ergonomic and feature packed body.

ntblowz reacted to Marcio Kabke Pinheiro in Coronavirus survey part 2 - how are work & incomes going?
Man, I wish that I was there now (my best friend lives in Wellington).
Here in Brazil will be probably the most tragical month in the last decades. The Amazon corona variant looks VERY deadly and transmissible - we had the first 200.000 deaths in the first 11 months, and the next 50.000 in...two months.
Cities around here with 200.000 to 300.000 people had already collapsed - there are no more ICU units available. Zero. People are starting already dying waiting for a ICU unit.
I live in São Paulo, the biggest city here (12 million people), and there are no more ICU units it the 5 biggest private hospitals of the city. Public hospital will have no more units soon too. The death rate of 30-40 year old people (with no comorbities) are climbing steadily. Only in the past week, 4 relatives of friends of mine had died of Covid.
Vaccination? EUA is giving around 2 million shot per day. We have 6 million...since Jan 17th.
And our president continues to sabotage any big vaccination effort. The most available vaccine that we have is the chinese Coronavac, but it refuses to buy too much of it because it is made by a state facility from the local governor, which is his political adversary (and another SOB). It refuses to get the Pfizer one too.Only moved to get 20 million doses fron Indian Covaxin because...the negotiation have a middle company the is involved in various cases of corruption. And only shows in public without masks (even getting children in his lap), saying that masks causes "suffocation" and don't prevent Covid.
The result: Brasil is becoming an open field to Covid evolve, due to the lack of vaccination - with a low percentage of people vaccinated, it becomes easier to the virus to evolve by natural selection. We will become a threat, and probably will become pariahs in the world.
I just want to be alive in 2022, since is almost certain that I will not be vaccinated in 2021 (i'm almost 50 years old).
