Thanks for posting the video. From what I get, the E1 has less noise reduction so could be similar raw image quality as the FX6 in lowlight. The poster on youtube prefers an image with mush and less noise though. Different tastes:) But absence of the strong NR like in FX3 and A7S3 would be a huge argument for fans of the "organic" image. So that makes the E1 an interesting camera indeed. FX3 sensor readout speed, FF 60p, Lumix S1H image quality, A6000 size body, AF. Shutdown due to heat is unfortunate.

Yeah I like the option of using AI powererd denoiser in post than brute force approach that was typically done in camera.

FX3 should definitely get this option too since it is "cinema" line, unless it was baked in the process so there is no way to fix with firmware?

Still good to see that Sony does listen to some feedback when they prep the new machine, just sucks the old owner get left behind.

Looks good - muted in a very appropriate way.

How did you handle the post workflow, especially colour grading?

Fashion is perhaps one of the genres that require the most "accurate" colour so that product colours reflect the actual products.

Thanks! I make sure my wb is correct, I also did custom WB with my budget vnd as it got this jaundice cast if using default WB set in camera, then add phantom lut with minor tweak in post.

I been using Capcut for those reels, it definite give finalcut and premiere a run for the money for reel videos, it can't do detailed adjustment vs those paid program but it's free and come with lots of effects to use.

Why laughable? If color is not much of a difference but DR/rolloff is a big difference between log profiles wouldn’t that make canons R line inferior in image to Sonys A line?

All camera is trash to Alexa by ur logic then, cause no one touches Alexa on DR if colour is comparable.

  4. It is certainly on other brands like Panasonic, Olympus and now Canon but not on Sony, it is really a handy feature for macro or small object without the need to go computer to do it.

I m pretty sure with fancy Sony AI they could really do it in camera, but at moment only bracketing is offered?

  5. Just based on DR? That is pretty laughable 😆

But yes Canon mirrorless camera DR is not as good vs competitor, but cinema on the other hand is different story.

So the hybrid market of r7/r8 is inferior to a6700/a7iv?

Find someone that loves you the way Sony loves releasing cameras that overheat.

I'm sure there will be people that defend it (there always are) but it's unacceptable that it still happens, regardless of the price.

Yeah, you can easily tell when Canon does everyone and their dogs bark about it, but when Sony does it you see plenty of people try to work around the shortcoming or said who does 30min+ boring videos 🤭

Apparently since the FX3 and FX30 launched both Blackmagic and Panasonic have seen a sharp downturn

I m not sure that statement is true, as I m pretty sure the S5II/X boosted the Panasonic market a bit with the magical pdaf.

Even this year I still see people buying blackmagic pocket 6k for those aspiring filmmakers over other brand.

  8. I can definitely give up IBIS for smaller/lighter setup.

    - The external raw recording, never used Atomos Ninja V for raw encoding, only used them for monitor lol, even though the c70 raw is quite small but only use it once and rest still on mp4.

So, the GH5S (2018) and BGH1 (2020 - 3 years old), which aren't FF, don't shoot RAW, don't have IBIS, and have been completely forgotten by the entire camera YT echo-chamber, are being actively used on some of the biggest and most VFX heavy films being made in Hollywood.

They also just casually mention in the video (11:35 if you don't believe me) they've been involved in over 2000 productions, and that "these cameras are able to match perfectly with all your A-cameras".

Simple, just ignore those echo chambers by not watching, obviously they are coming from a different background to the film/tv industry.

  10. So I tried both Sigma 28-70 2.8 and Sony 20-70 in store, man the dynamic IS on Sony lens totally blow away the third party lens.  When I tried the dynamic IS on Sigma the only thing it did was crop more but stabilization is still similar to a73 with tamron 28-75mm I used to have. On Sony 20-70 it felt like it glued on the screen.

And 28mm with DIS is way too narrow, on 20mm it felt ok since it is wider in the first place.

The ZV E1, paired with a good lens, like the Zeiss 24-70 f4, does really provide a nice image. And that sticky tracking focus assisted by AI really works and is needed here (the dancer moving and turning, for example).

Here is Hare Krisha at Washington Square Park.

Oh, and the audio quality of the camera is above the usual.

Does Dynamic Active Stabilization works on the 24-70 F4?  I heard it doesn't work on 3rd party lens, but I m not sure about older Sony lens.  Your video there is really stable, I think more stable than 28-60mm?

I think there is a misunderstanding going on here. I don't patronize you guys, still wish we all would find back to kindness. We are pretty kewl people and a bit cheek in tongue shall not lead to hurts. I try to do the same.

I actually got a few project coming up that I m gonna try with E1 instead of using C70/R5C.

I think i've gone overboard with my response and can't edit those post anymore so I m just gonna move on.
