I think I have a different point of view. The A7R II is really a Super 35mm camera. The A7S II is really full frame. The 4K in full frame on the A7R II is very poor in low light, can't even do ISO 3200 nicely and the moire & aliasing will always bite you when you least expect it. So Super 35mm vs full frame, very different look. Speed Booster Ultra is a good solution for the A7R II but I still think it looks pretty different. Looking deeply into it at the moment with some real world shooting.

The other dream is that Sony launch an A7s sensor in a video body... with 10bit, NDs, HFR etc... I don't really get why they have never done it.

Yes 4:2:0 but at least then you have a small package with IBIS ans sgammut3.cine. The problem with the converter is that you only going to use it with A7s. As soon as you upgrade its useless, whereas the PIX-E5H can be something that you will use it with many cameras. Though if you are going with RED or Ursa Mini maybe its not a good option. I haven't seen anything lower than $400 but if you buy it from a big retailer you can try it and return it if you are not satisfied. Amen brother.

Few years back when I was using the good old nex7 and was shopping for spare batteries I found out that Sony has this ¨accessory kit¨, that includes a small camerabag and a spare battery. Saw it opening night last week after ordering tickets like 3 months ago... Never did that before, ha. Really great moviegoing experience: cheers and applause from the audience, a great atmosphere. And the film totally earned it, I feel. Yeah, the plot is quite similar to Ep. IV but they nailed the characters, I cared for 'em and the film is just good fun. Very much looking forward to the next one.

lots of great cinematography. I like the story and practical effects. pace was a bit more modern crowd-pleasing film style.. punchlines everywhere, tons of throwbacks, fight scenes right out the gate, never a rest really - but it worked.

I liked it too, not as overly JJ as those Star Trek movies, but the whip pans and shallow DOF quick zooms are as played as the flares, so glad he's not doing the next one. My only real complaints is the plot was pretty transparent, nothing at all was surprising. Second, it's basically a remake of the original, but I get it, they're bridging the old with the new. Lastly, they changed the pitch of the blasters and put too much bass in the light sabers, they sound funny. I watched Empire and Jedi earlier in the week, I think they should have kept the same sounds. I agree with others, Kylo Ren is badass, a much darker dark side. Love it. Saw it in a packed theater, every time one of the old favorites appeared on screen the place erupted in cheers, a cool moviegoing experience.

At the very beginning, when the old-school Star Wars logo and graphics appeared... everyone at the IMAX theater cheered and clapped! Wonderful movie, surprisingly funny.

Yep, I found them quite evident, and I could have sworn that some of the shots were a touch out of focus... but nice retro feel to it. I liked Kylo too. And yes, in Rian Johnson we trust, a perfect match for a darker Episode VIII!!

Although I use Panny cameras almost exclusively, I've been watching the FS700 for a while on eBay now...if not too heavy for you, and you're primarily dealing with landscapes, I think you can deal with the reputed skin tone issue...in fact I'm not even sure that skin tones is an issue on the 700...priced from slightly below $2000, to $4000 almost new...I'm thinking in the near future of getting one...perhaps it will work for you too...
