1. LOL! Okay that's a lot more funny now that I see the actual page and fully understand what this is all about. At first I thought it was some random scam. I love this one: And this one:

 3. I'm not sure how many people even know this camera takes stills, lol. I agree on the fact that moire/aliasing are a no go... Still, why is it on one video and not on the next? For most of the examples i have seen, again, they are the 12-35x lens on super-video mode.. The "my first impression" video with the Voigtlander 25, showed no moire or aliasing that i saw.. He even did a scene specific set of shots to find it... I saw none in Genesis as well.. (Just some noise in the dark sky when the lead character is getting shookdown by the police....though that could have been web compression i dont know...can't see something like that being acceptable by 2 respected DP's on a launch video) Regardless... Panasonic has to be getting over-run with emails and questions over these concerns.. I dig my gh2, & i'd love to get the 3.. But if moire/aliasing are there, forget it. This camera scores high in everything in terms of upgrades.. But it's like painting a beautiful picture, then wiping your ass with it. In this case the ass is a metaphor for aliasing, incase no one got that. Not abstract art.. Seems like "good enough" is the mindset though if version 0.5 is the final word... It's a month away, which doesn't leave much time for easing the concerns of the public regarding issues if they plan on a different firmware.. Then again, there is a subliminal deadline that it has to be addressed before release if it's a firmware issue, however, if it's hardware and there's moire... Bummer.

 4. Lets make a genuine analysis, rather than play favorites. Key improvements on the GH3: 1. Weather Sealing. 2. 2.5mm to 3.5mm mic in. 3. Sound Monitoring (through headphone jack). 4. Colours are slightly more flat (though not flat enough). 5. Longer lasting battery, and grip option available. 6. Better LCD and EVF. Though, the screen, suddenly, look very blue. Even the grass and everything that is green, has a strange hue of blue. 7. Bluetooth and Wi-fi (one works, at a time, though, the GH3 has, apparently, both). Where it doesn't seem to have improved, or not improved enough: 1. Video quality (still visible noise, under certain conditions, though slightly less). 2. Comparatively Low Dynamic. 3. Picture Quality is improved, marginally, though not really enough. Where it has deteriorated: 1. Sudden appearance of noticeable Moire and Aliasing. 2. Video doesn't seem as sharp (though, in some videos, people state, that, it appears to be, almost, equally sharp. I am not sure I agree with it being sharper, or even close to, as sharp as the GH2). 3. The sensor is not Multi-Aspect Ratio, anymore. 4. The ETC has gone from Video (Completely), and is available, ONLY for photos, of low to mid resolution. 5. It is suddenly bulkier, and a tad heavier (marginally). 6. Cost of the camera has gone up, substantially. [The GH2 did cost around $ 1300-1500, but, only at launch time, and, with the 14-140 lens. Also, since it was Not available, for a long time, and there were series of offers, on the camera, the price was about $899 for the body only, or so. I am not exactly sure, but, sometime around mid to end of 2011, the GH2 + 14-140 lens cost around $ 1155 (on offers) or $1300 (without offer). I am not absolutely sure, of the exact pricing, because most prices, seem to have been removed, from their relevant dates, and the one, that I found, don't seem completely accurate.] Please feel free, to add, to this list, or post you opinion or feedback or corrections.

 6.
'Battle Tested' is Red's way of saving face and not having to say 'we are selling these off cheap! ' its all sales talk to make you think you are getting something of value..... and at $4000 it's one hell of a Hollywood hit movie camera ! a bargin now how much will the second hand Red One market drop to on ebay etc????..... $2500 ish????
There are some on ebay.co.uk at the moment that are going to have to seriously re-adjust their expectations thats for sure. Non modded RED ONE Ms (of which they are still many) are now not economically viable to upgrade to MX as its cheaper to buy the MX so the massive bargain might well be buying an M (which is still one hell of a camera) off someone who wants to upgrade to an MX.

 7. It sucks the One MX is end of life... But such is life... No Dragon upgrade, the dinosaur.. Lol. That's a hell of a camera for $4000. Didn't it utilize an external red drive you could get that was 320gbs at one time? It was the only one that's done that right?.... Red Mags are ridiculous, and a Red exclusive 16gb CF card sounds like a waste of the 5 minutes you'd get out of it at 4k... Don't really understand the logic of formatting the drive so it only takes Red CF cards or the fact that they're only 16gb... But they must be badass to be like $300 each. (Don't quote me.) To me though, going through the "red stuff for sale" thread, i've seen MX packages with the works going from $5-12k depending on the miles.. The external 320gb drive sounds like the way to go if someone had one for sale.. As far as Epic and Scarlet are concerned, the rental price may go down substantially now. I knew I probably still wouldn't be able to afford an Epic or a Scarlet system, but an Epic might not be $2000 a day to rent now!! Other than that, I'm pretty sure most people are more concerned about getting ahold of a $4000 Red One now that they're realistic... Which begs the question: since the only available units for sale are battle tested, wtf were they selling a couple of days ago for $25,000? Lol Hey.. I'm sure nothing will be good enough until it is 38k resolution or whatever according to Red, but not for a few years at least, lol. If they sold nothing but Red One MX's for $4000 until then, i'm sure they'd claim the market for a long time... Plenty of major productions have used Red One's. i don't even need to name drop.

 8.
I call it the "shooting stars artifact" because it is rays of brighter color that travel from the top left to the bottom right part of the image, looks like shooting stars. They are visible in dark parts of the image, mostly visible in very dark parts. It is very visible when you push the image in post, if you want to see it download the dynamic range comparison I posted in my gh3 quick handheld comparison thread. More subtle but clearly visible here (not my work): https://vimeo.com/47358813 At the end of the video on the wood behind the bea hive. Watch in full screen you won't miss it.
I don't know if anybody picked up on this, but there seem to be a couple of issues in Flowmotion like a weird rain looking like pattern in dark areas, and flickering issues. Digging for a link while you're on your phone is a p.i.t.a. so i'll just tell you to look up a guy named "Roman Legion Films" in Vimeo. He points out an issue in one of his videos with it.. Maybe it's the same thing you're seeing as it seems like a common issue now popping up.. I didn't really see it in mine.... But i didn't really look for it either. Another issue was a lowlight shot with my new voigtlander and my 5 year old. I did a slow push from her full body sitting up in her bed watching tv up to her face. I wanted "eerie" with just the tv light reflections. The wall behind her bed is big, empty, and white right now so it looks creepy as hell. Try as i may adjusting shutter, and frame rate, i could not fix the fact that the light reflection was flickering consistently like i was shooting in PAL land or something. So i ditched the shot and put her to bed, lol. The thing is, I didn't check it on my computer. I know the Gh2's lcd is awful with gamma shift, refresh rate, & such.. So maybe someone can chime in if they've seen something similar. I know Flowmotion is great in almost all other aspects, but i'm back to Sedna. It's an All-i patch and that could've had something to do with it as well even though FM is only a 3gop patch.. Who knows.. Point is, others have seen the problems you're talking about. I thought Flowmotion was the last patch I'd ever need until these little issues. Now i'm fairly certain a high bitrate, all-i patch is about as good as the gh2 can get.. All of these matrix adjustments to simulate 4:4:4 characteristics on a 4:2:0 camera are really indiscernible to me.. I can't see a difference in any of them anymore. Sanity was awesome regarding noise in lowlight.. I didn't have any hardly.. Until i saw it only pushed 17mbs in the scene and thus, just smeared it out along with blocking in the highlights of all things.. Lol. Bad. Sedna and CM night seem to be the best from what i've seen... But then again, they're 150+mbps all-i patches that require the 64/95 card or forget reliability.

 9. I find Jim Jannard's behavior of sudden co-incidences, very suspicion arousing. It must a celestial superball event, greater than any, Ever, that Both, a truckload of Red one cameras were ordered by someone (whose name, was conveniently NOT disclosed), ONLY for lease, for some film, and then were given back, after the shoot. Also, Jim did not tell him, How many TruckLoads of cameras were ordered by this great incumbent. AND That, suddenly RED Seems to have realised, that, their investments on their Entire Range, SIMULTANEOUSLY has been recovered, and so are offering discounts, reducing they prices to half of their original prices. Oh, yes, another co-incidence, is that they have (suddenly) built an incredibly efficient factory in Irvine, California, fund better suppliers, lowered assembly costs etc etc. (We have built an incredibly efficient factory in Irvine, California and over time learned how to make EPICs in quantity, lowered our assembly costs, found better suppliers and fully paid off our NRE. When we assembled the 1st EPIC camera in Stage 6 at RED Studios Hollywood it took our team 12 hours. It took two more days to de-bug. Today we can assemble an EPIC in 13 minutes and 95+% need no re-work after diagnostics and testing. It is a testament to our manufacturing team and supply chain teams.) I don't know how the RED guys do it, but, their stream of co-incidences, never end. Maybe, they should be re-christened Co-Incidence Cameras, instead of RED Cameras.

 10.
This is what I have at hand. The shots of the guitar player and picking the guitar up and playing it with the skylight behind is an example. I had to lift the lows quite a bit in all of those shots. EDIT: it's exactly the thumbnail shot that I'm talking about, and all those shot from the same angle.
There is Quite a bit of noise in your video (on the staircase, and the seats, etc etc). I just saw a few seconds of the start, and there was already a lotta noise (strange artefacts).
I wondered if it was my camera that was faulty but then I saw it in others people footage like the vimeo link I posted. Maybe you guys should try to pull the shadows all the way up and see if it's there? or maybe it is specific to the flowmotion hack?
Naah, i don't think its got to do with the FlowMotion Hack. All settings, with very high contrast, and very low light scenes have it. I saw it in the 5D videos too. All cameras with 4-2-0 have it (maybe even with the 4-2-2 have it, though,it may be less noticeable). Though, the noise on the GH2, IMHO,seems to vary, under different circumstances. There are good ISO settings, and there is the ISO bug, and, I also suspect, that, in low light, certain shutter speeds also govern the level of noise. Check this out: http://vimeo.com/18580410#at=0 Its not a big deal, I guess. Everything comes with its limitations. We just have to learn, to work around it. Btw, i realised, that the GH3 has a strange update, on the continuous shooting rate/ high speed burst mode. Whereas, the GH2 shot 4MP pics, at 40 fps, for exactly 1 second, the GH3 does 4MP pics, at 20fps, for 2 seconds. Doesn't, then, the processor power, seem similar? ;)

 11. my problem is i have iscorama and moller and everything else is not.. my redstan hypergonar 1.33 prototype was finished months ago but i need to give it to someone for feedback i kind of put everything on the back burner. the apefoscoperama is already looking pretty good some of these shots are really great this is what patience and energy and drive can do for a prototype super quick as well. this to me already seems superior to optex and century 2 companies that had over 30 years optics experience with a design worked out on a 1990s super computer. flare issues on the apefos optic can be sorted with experiments in coating and finding and matching taking lens. viva brazil

 12. Also if BMD wanted to give Andrew a camera, which they maybe should have done when 'beta' testing, they wouldn't go through CVP. to do it.

 13.
Kingswell First this is really nothing to do with Andrew and second although you and myself too wouldnt like it CVP can do what they like with their own stock. If they decide to earmark certain priorities like Andrew whose blog will reach thousands of potential customers then that is a business decision for them and maybe even Black Magic who may or may not have asked them to deliver a camera to Andrew or popular bloggers as a priority. Business wants to make money as much as it can. We want great cheap cameras. I would be upset if it was potentially queue jumping but its like the theatre manager coming out and taking someone from the queue and so not queue jumping at all. We will never know the truth if we cant accept what Andrew and CVP have said therefore sour grapes are futile in my opinion.
Run a business like that and you're going to go out of business. I also disagree they can do whatever they like with stock. There will be many strings attached in their contract with BMD. Break em and they don't get anymore BMD stock. Blackmagic already did their publicity boost with the very public 'beta' testers. I struggle to even recognise it as a beta test. They specifically picked out prominent bloggers like Philip Bloom and Vincent Laforet for PR. They don't need anymore business-they can't even supply 1% of demand they already have! Lastly I find it alarming that people are saying that its ok to boost people up pre-order lists. There is such a thing as ethics and conducting business in a good moral sense.
