  2. Well I will be the first to admit 12,500 is about as high as I have needed to shoot. And it was for fun more than anything. But to say that kind of ability is not useful to someone is crazy. Hell Canon and Nikon, Sony all have cameras that are Suppose to go up to a Million or more. It is there for some reason or they would not even bother. Bragging rights is part of it. Night surveillance comes to mind. Shooting night skies. Philip Blooms review of the a7s showed some good use of it's ability at night on Brighton Beach, his favorite hangout. If I can get half decent shots at 25,600 well 12,400 out to be a cakewalk. That is the main reason they push the limits. Just because a certain person never uses it doen't mean someone else never does either.
  3. Of the jobs on set I hate being the boom OP the most. Its difficult and tiring tbh.
  4. I am pretty confident saying 25,000 iso is more than enough for any situation I shoot in. Realistically 3200 iso is as I pretty much light everything. Highlights blowing out is the issue I run into most often. That's why I value dynamic range a lot more than anything else.
  5. This sounds dangerous, why would you post this? No one in their right mind should blindly use any QR code!
  6. 2.4GHz I think does get its signal eaten up more by bodies of water (humans) than UHF
  7. Not likely, especially as the C300mk2 was available well before the UMP came out.
  8. boom op. Glorified stick holder. I will give you the benefit of the doubt. You are a pretty good boom holder. Pats on his head. I warned you, your days are numbered. In a few years won't need a focus puller, won't need a second AC, won't need a, well you get the idea.

    Race to the bottom

There is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more to being a boom op than just "holding a stick above people's heads"!! And no recorder, no matter how magical, will change that. There are quite a few cellphones coming out with triple cameras, a wide, medium, tele camera.
  10. You can't really mean that. God you Have drank the Kool Aide lol. How the F old did you say you are? Was it 84 or 85?
  11. Today
  12. I heard If you swipe left-right-left-left-right-left on the multi function bar and then immediately take a picture of this QR code you will unlock 4K without a crop! Tried it and it works. Finally!

The ads are very grating too! Very much targeted towards millennials, which I am one, but they feel like they're targeted for 20 year old "content creators" as opposed to someone like me.
  14. Well, I don't think such high ISOs are even any useful or makes much sense IMO.
  15. First clip from the full frame 6k E2-F6 was released in their FB group. I guess they’re going out shooting with it this weekend and will release that footage soon. This one was just a tease. Grade is me.

I certainly have. Also got an email from them about dropping the price for me if I renewed. I'm not going back.
  18. I don't think an 8k monitor would be necessary. I bought a pretty decent 4k monitor and I can't tell the difference.
  19. A down vote WTF. I agree, after 3 years I doubt they are going to be best buddies anytime some. DPR's loss the way I see it. They do need help on the video side. You don't learn this stuff in a few years. Years of on the job training is a must I think. There is so damn many aspects to it is the problem. And Photo experience, other than maybe exposure, even that is weak, amounts to hardly nothing.
  20. Yeah a Sony a7s is just getting started at 25,600 ISO. Mine was just jaw dropping impressive at that kind of ISO. Sony can do some magic stuff with Sensors. Now menus ehh.
  21. Hmm sort of has an early Sony look to it without the noise. Defiantly an improvement, but not a Jeez I want to run out and buy one look. Not the creamy D750 look, at least to me. 😜
  22. Well if it is able to be record to a SD card I would think my Box Computer on my desktop ought to make it happen. The big problem, well a HUGE problem, would be a 8K monitor to view it! 😬
  23. colors look a lot more vibrant. That said can't find anything with skintones
  24. I must admit I have not investigated them. I will give it a look.
  25. Andrew Reids LUTs and in camera profile seem like a good option.
  26. Even that video has more of a dark look to it that i just don't like. It is not like this thing just came out this week. It would be at the bottom of my list. At least the Canon EOS-R has it's warts, but it does have nice CS. There is no reason in this day and age to Have to be as good as Zak to get a decent image from a modern camera lol.
