you can force FCPX too, to see it as progressive.
It works, just go to the info pane , and change the filed order.
And in fcpx prefs , change preview to high quality and then you dont see artifacts.
But , as in premiere too, it needs render again (if you put the footage to a progressive sequence)

There must surely be an option. I don't use FCPX at the moment for reasons like this, it isn't complete enough or reliable. Try JES Deinterlacer, it is free. http://jeschot.home.xs4all.nl/home.html

Well Premiere Pro CS5 brings it in correctly. 25fps no interlacing artefacts. FCPX on the other hand sees it as 1080i and forces an Upper Field playout which makes the picture look jagged and rubbish. There is no way in FCPx to change the way it handles the footage it seems. Not that I can see anyway

you can do two things in Premiere to resolve this. Simply drop the file into a 25p (30p) timeline and see if you have 25 (or 30) unique frames with no interlacing artifacts. You should. Alternatively, you can change it to progressive in this interpret footage window under the conform option.

i tried premiere too... it doesnt work !

In premiere 5.5, right clip over m2ts 25 p file: Modify/Interpret Footage: Field Order: Upper field first. If you do the same process over 24p file, you get: No fields (Progressive Scan).
the same with footage from sony nex 5n @ 25p. No fields (Progressive Scan)
