So I just got my extreme 17 rig from http://www.ginirigs-...cus-weight.html and I couldn't be happier!

I have heard many good and bad things about gini so did my research about them before ordering. Found they had a new site and brought of there (one listed above) and was surprised that it came in just 3 days from Korea.

So it came all in one small box all seperatley packaged as you can see from the photo below.

Wasnt quite sure how it went together but just checked a photo out from the site and after a while I got it together. The quality of the parts is just insaine. I have used and owned a few other rigs in my time but nothing even comes close to how good this is made. And the best thing was, this is the cheapest rig I have ever brought! I have another rig at the moment but was very curious about Gini so I got this one. I think i am happy to say I will be selling my other rig now because it doesnt compare at all.

I payed $399 for the extreme 17 in their sale and $85 postage. Pretty steep postage but for under $500 this is the best thing I have brought.

Anyone else had any experiences with them?

All that for $399? Wow. What is the follow focus like, working well with the FD?

Congrats.

On their Ebay listings they used to have ratings (reliability, etcetera) for the components on their rigs. I don't see any part ratings for that link.

Is the follow focus reversible? Chessycam seems to feel that the newer rigs may have reversible follow focuses.

Whatever happened to your Ebay finds Andrew?

I have not brought a lens gear yet, i stupidly forgot to add it to the cart. Your Uk based arent you? They have a UK site now as well - http://www.ginirigs.co.uk/ - not sure how the prices compare but should be the same in pounds im guessing.

I think the follow focus is one of the best parts. Little bigger than I expected but feels real smooth and no backlash at all. Not sure what u mean about the ratings Moe. Check on some of their new ebay listings that site is in them - http://www.ebay.com/...=item3a77a38dc0

And 20 percent off untill the end of august. The GH2 rig looks nice for that price... but then again shipping 75 quid??

Yea i just noticed it doesnt last that long. Yea I know looks super cheap then you have to add postage, but still with postage it seems the cheapest and best quality for your money

Hey max,

I have just purchased the Gini rig myself. Was wondering what matte box do you use with your Gini rig. Or do you have any others to recommend.

In the pic above, are you going to get a Step down ring for the FD lens? This is still looking very Tempting, thinking I will get one, or a rig by D Focus systems, they have some at same price...

Can you post some youtubes or vimeo vids with the rig please!!
