Dear EOSHD'ers,
This is my first post on this wonderful forum and yes, my first incursion into the magnificent world of GH2, hacks and anamorphic. My background is more traditional Sony EX camcorders and 35mm adapters which have served me well - until today. I am now contemplating acquiring a GH2 with the intention of using it with the LA7200 and my set of Nikkor primes and have spent long hours reading online documentation and am going through what most of you have probably gone through at some point: a headache and lots of unanswered questions.
So I'm reaching out for any help you guys might be able to give:

- Does it make a difference as to where I buy the camera from - Europe/US/Japan in terms of frame rate? I need 25P and nothing else.
- What is the latest state of affaires re. GH2 V1.1 "HBR Mode" and the latest version of PTools? Can I get the 25P offered by V1.1 and still enjoy - safely - the high bit-rates offered by the hack? If so, what are my options? 44Mbit AVCHD 1080/25p? Higher than 44Mbit? Any known issues with this?

I am planning on shooting a black & white feature and would like to benefit from a as high as possible dynamic range between blacks & highlights, hence my asking.

I run 'Driftwood Quantum 9B update' hack
and it does 25p when set to Hi Bit Rate and it clocks at 88mb/s
the same hack does 24p and this clocks at 150 mb/s

it all works well Ive had no issues
24p 150mbs is approx 1GB per minuite

See if you can notice the difference in image quality between unhacked and hacked first, in HBR mode. Factory settings most reliable if you are unsure about the higher bitrates.

There's a much smaller difference in image quality than people have been letting on.
