I was very surprised to find out they where
Camera H - Sony F65
Camera F - Arri Alexa
Camera B - Panasonic GH2
wow! stunned ! the two most expensive cinema cameras and the GH2 !
I really thought Camera B was going to be the Red Epic and it was the GH2!
So this just goes to show we can all make great Movies with the gear we have!!! .... a GH2
A big salute to Panasonic and Nick Driftwood for putting a camera in our hands that is capable of competing with Hollywood movie Cameras without us spending over 50,000 on the camera.
Artistry and talent are such an important part of this and ultimately it is all very subjective and personal.
But for me this shows in the right hands the Panasonic GH2 is a world class camera at very very small price compared to the others ....once it has Nick Driftwood's hack on it.
So lets go to work and make some great movies! there are no excuses now!!!

You couldn't be more wrong.
Wrong in your eyes maybe. Subjectivity.. Maybe look it up in the dictionary some time.

Story trumps every time. But, if I'm given the option, I'm pretty sure I'd pick up an Alexa before an I Phone.

The GH2 On this test looked the best to me. However having said that the lighting was controlled and so they didn't need to worry about over or under exposing they could give the camera an easy ride in its very own demo mode. However the real world is not like that as you can't turn the sun down or the moon up and a huge amount of problems that only the best cameras will solve.
Still nice to know the GH2 with a good DP can be every bit as good as a more expensive camera and give a beautiful filmic look. To me the GH2 mullered the C300!

You should look up the dictionary, too, because you were wrong in my opinion. I am entitled to my opinion.
Weird. Why so venom? I said nothing that can be considered either right, nor wrong. -Just a personal opinion. Wind your neck in man.

nice. I forgot which I originally blindly thought were best during part 1. Unfortunately (but rightly so) it turns out I thought the Alexa and the Epic were best. After watching part 2 and seeing the GH2 is B, I am amazed how superbly detailed it is, if a little over lit to unrealistic degree - to counter the lower of DR but WOW. F65 missed it for me - sony's lack of interest in being creative with the lighting was a shame. It handled it but i'd have liked to have seen it used to its optimum
It's interesting to hear your views. I think the F65 still managed to look film-like. Indeed a corporate mindset got the better of creative lighting on that one, and the magenta cast - what was that all about? Still the best cam on paper though.
Actually I didn't feel the GH2 shot was over lit. The fill lighting was higher than the others and I felt that matched the set. The scene was an up beat party and it was light outside. Why make it dark and shadowy? I feel the vibrant lighting matched the mood of the party.

I said nothing either. I said your opinion was wrong. Given they didn't change the lighting, ADDS to F65 performance. The F65 operators were confident that the camera could do well without changing the lighting. H was in top 3 for many people. Even EOSHD had it on the front page wrongly thinking it was the "amazing" GH2. It turned out to be F65.
You said, "sony's lack of interest in being creative with the lighting was a shame." I said you were wrong. They wanted to show off that their camera can handle the lighting. This is internet. Get used to people telling you are wrong.
I do think you need to calm down sir.
You are entitled to your opinion, but there's no need to put it across by targeting Rich for criticism.
If a DP does a shit job at lighting they deserve criticism. If a person on the other hand is simply expressing an opinion, you have no right to be offended.

Regardless it gives me great confidence in the capabilities of the GH2 and that has value of it own. I now know that i'm not fooling myself when I think something I record looks good. It actually does look good and not just cuz i shot it on my camera and and deluding myself. That knowledge has value. I come from a Pro Audio background and I know all too well that many times we fool ourselves into thinking the work we did with low cost gear sounds better than it actually did. It was hard to have a frame of reference to make that judgment. However, with the GH2 we have a really telling frame of reference that is undeniable. Now I can just work and stop worrying so much.
Right now the exciting cameras in the sub 10K range are the FS 100/700, Nikon D800, Black Magic Design Cinema and GH2 IMO.
