100fps to 1000fps - a detailed look at slow motion on the Sony RX100 IV / RX10 II

​Numerical zoom? You mean how much magnification it has? It's a 24 to 200 full frame equivalent, dunno exactly how much magnification it is, probably a factor of 4? It's decent enough for me. The Panasonic FZ1000 has a 25 to 400 equivalent, so that should be a factor of around 8 or something? Perhaps someone else can chime in. If you want image quality, go for the Sony, if you need maximum magnification, I suggest you get a telescope (or the Panasonic).

It is an 8.3x zoom (24mm x 8.3 = 200mm).

25-250mm would be 10x zoom for example.

25-400mm well that is 16x. If you just want the zoom range and 4K on 1" sensor and not the fancy constant F2.8 aperture or slow-mo then the FZ1000 is seriously worth considering over the RX10 M2, it is also considerably cheaper.... especially in Europe where it is 750 euros vs 1599 for the Sony! No SLOG or built in ND though!

Is it possible to use the microphone when recording in slow motion. I have my own rx10ii but I can't figure out how to do this

I've abusing the heck out of slo-mo since the FS700...

One thing about aerials and slow-mo, as they become more popular I'm forced to very strategic if and when I use it.  Which is fine.  Don't want to rely on tech more than creativity anyway.
