GH4 final firmware

Also the highly anticipated Sigma 50mm F1.4 DG HSM ART now has a price - this will be an exceptional piece of glass to use on the GH4 with Speed Booster pre-order the Nikon mount version at B&H for $995 or the Canon mount version

This shot by EOSHD forum member Julian confirms that Panasonic have now completed the final production firmware for the GH4 (version 1.0). The unit pictured above was loaned to Julian but it is a good sign the camera will be shipping on time from stores - possibly by the end of this month in less than 2 weeks.

I got to try the 96fps at NAB, it wasnt bad but not as sharp as the HD. The normal HD is crazy sharp with loads of detail. Cant wait to see 4K on this thing. I think with the right setting the 96fps can look just fine once color and sharpen is done. Its got a good slow mo effect and most people will no notice the softness if the subject is good.

I really hope (also) that Panasonic are knocking them out at a rapid rate for launch! :-)

One thing I thought of last night was the HDMI output...

So...you can record 4K to the internal card and this will limit the HDMI to the same 8bit 4:2:0. But you can set the HDMI output to 1080 (so we can still use our external viewers/records) But how I wonder does the camera generates this real time downsample to 1080? Line Skipping? Pixel Binning?

I am a newbie in photography and want to get a GH4 with a good lens. So this glass needs an adapter?

Not necessarily. There's a wide array of great micro 4/3 glass out there that will work natively on the GH4. In fact, that's really the only way to get full electronic control (aperture and auto focus) with this camera. However, yes you would need an adapter to use any other kind of lens mount (nikon, PL, canon, etc).

Thanks for the info.

Would the LUMIX G X VARIO standard zoom lens be a good all-purpose lens for video and stills?

Thanks for all of the tests and posts on the GH4.

I'm planning on getting a speedbooster for the Gh4 and shooting with some vintage lenses. I am new to the whole vintage lens and converter game. I shoot stills so auto features on lenses would be a huge help. Which speedbooster mount would be the most compatible with other lenses?
