Germy1979 Posted October 5, 2013 Share Posted October 5, 2013 I'd post a pic, but if anyone has the same problem, they'll know exactly what I'm talking about when I ask: Does anyone else's BMCC rear touch screen show banding or compression artifacts? (I mean, you'll definitely know if it looks like mine.).. I'm in film mode shooting raw. You can see it on Film and Video display settings whether you're shooting in Pro Res or Raw, and it looks like bad web compression. It doesn't show up on the actual footage, but i'm curious if this is normal now while I'm still under warranty. lol.. Shadows are blocky and stair stepped, certain details are smudgy, etc. I didn't have it on my last bmcc so I'm curious. Blackmagic replaced my last cam because of "abnormal and excessive amounts of noise in the green channel." (Their diagnosis after testing it themselves.) This one looks much better in that regard, but has banding and blocky compression type artifacts on the rear display that the other one didn't have.
