Thanks to low weight and small size Go Pro cameras will be part of the next NASA manned space flight, possibly to Mars.

"NASA replied that they would love to catapult a bunch of 7Ds from the earth and send them hurtling into a dark oblivion but countered that the Cinema EOS range had done that anyway."

I know this is an April Fool's joke, but......I have a GoPro Hero 3 Black edition......and when I think it through, considering the variables, it actually doesn't sound like a bad idea!

Although the tech -- Aptina 4K sensor, CineForm RAW, etc. -- is all there, I believe GoPro probably won't release a 60p-capable, interchangeable-lens, 4K camera anytime soon. It certainly would be cool, though.

Not sure why one would want to change lenses, on Mars.......might be dusty! ;-)
