  1. GH4 and a Metabones Speedbooster? This is my two camera set up and it works OK for me. I use the GH4 for wide angle stuff (with the inherent ability at 4K to crop in to 1080) and the D750 for closer framing. I have found it difficult to match the looks of the footage so far but I like the versatility of the setup, being able to use the same lenses. The D750 is better in very low light which (for me) addresses this 'shortcoming' of the GH4.
  2. Just a little PSA for D750 owners re. Zacuto Z Finders - the standard 2.5 mag. Z finder Pro fits the D750 nicely with this frame: http://store.zacuto.com/z-finder-3-2-mounting-frame-for-small-body-dslrs/ You can fold the screen out with the red Zacuto screws still attached to the plate. HTH.
  3. Apologies if you've seen this before but I stumbled across this idea recently when I pulled out an old Glidetrack slider for the first time in ages. Even though I mount it on a hefty tripod with a decent sized ball head it, footage would suffer, due to ends not being as well supported as the middle on this metre long slider. In the past, I'd used two tripods or a couple of lightstands for the setup but obviously it took more time and kit doing it this way. The other day I realised my old Uniloc tripod's centre column could be configured horizontally, a feature which I've seen on more recent Manfrotto tripods. By mounting my slider QR plate on one end and cranking the ballhead right the way over, I could set up the slider aligned with the horizontally aligned tripod centre column. Happily the centre column adjustment knob protrudes vertically just enough to contact the middle of the slider and the foot on the slider at the far end (away from the bullhead touches the base of the centre column. Set up this way, the slider is very stable and of course, setup is now quick and easy and I can mount the camera this way for 'normal' shooting and have the flexibility to immediately use the slider if I wish. The pics should make it clear - hope this helps someone.
  4. Yes, why would they put white lettering on there? I know you could scrape it off but that's not the point. It seems to have a 3.5mm audio input to plug in another mic. I think it would make a good backup or for use in areas where you're not bothered that you can see it. I think the new Rode wireless solution still looks like a good bet at this stage.
  5. Might be of interest to D750 owners, particularly in light of the new Rode wireless mic.product announced recently. A simple clip on wireless mic. setup for $250 http://www.europe-nikon.com/en_GB/product/accessories/slr/slr-connectivity/audio-video/me-w1-wireless-microphone
  6. It's a shame the video quality is so bad, I own 3 Fuji's and it would be so nice to use them for B cameras but sadly not at the moment.
