  1. Hi guys, I used to follow EOSHD religiously, however in past year I had a lot of work and did not have any time to follow up on what's happening with new DSLR and mirrorless market. My girlfriend is just starting up with photography and videography and I want to get her for Black friday an entry level DSLR or mirrorless camera. Something on the cheaper side, but with decent video capabilities. I have no idea what's bang for back camera out there. I saw Sony has some interesting stuff, There are new Nikons and Canons, but I don't know which ones are decent for video. Something like GH4 is out of my price range for now. This would be a start up camera, until she gets her feet wet with photography and videography. If anybody can give me their opinion on what to go for please do I would appreciate. Thanks a lot!!!
  2. Hi all, I have request from a client to shoot in 3D. Possibly a commercial and a short promo film. I never shot in 3D so I guess this is great opportunity to try it out, since I kind of have to. I just have no idea what set up i need. Is it possible to shoot with DSLR. I shoot with 5D mark 3 mainly. What cameras do you suggest to be used (something not extremely expensive to buy or rent), also what kind of mount do I need, and how is it possible to sync up the cams. Does syncing the cameras happen with some external hardware? I know that BM URSA can be synced for 3D shooting, but for now it is too expensive option. Also what lenses work best for 3D? Is it better to shoot it RAW or is it fine with codec (or on external recorder in prores)? Any help from your experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much. Cheers!
  3. Thanks a lot for your advice. If there is anyone who could help me out with shooting RAW on 5D M2. There is a lot of stuff including Andrew's guide for shooting on M3, however if anyone could help me out about M2 and RAW I would be very grateful.
  4. Hi, I would like to get back up camera (and also a nice stills cam) and unfortunately I do to have finances for 5d mark 3, so I will go either with mark 2 or 6d. Which one is better for video, and could I try shooting RAW on either of these. I know that Magic Lantern is in very progressive stage in regards to Mark 3 but I didn't follow if there are possibilities on Mark 2 or 6D. Thanks a lot for your thoughts and comments.
  5. ...and yes great review Andrew as usual... I got mine today.. extremaly excied.. now I m collecting the lenses.. if someone could answer me abot weather I should get Pana 14mm or Kern Poillard 15mm I would greatly appreciate it. Also what's the difference between film convert as a FCP plugin and as a standalone application?
  6. There is a Sankor for raughly $580 : http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Sankor-16c-Anamorphic-Beautiful-Condition-Very-Rare-Good-Condition-/171137260413?pt=Camera_Lenses&hash=item27d8935b7d   Is this a good one to get? Again what focal lenghts lenses I could use with it? Thanks in advance..
  7. What lens do you sugest for this camera: Panasonic 14mm f2.5 or Kern Paillard 15mm 2.8 c mount? Thanks!

  9. Hi all,   I m just starting out with anamorphic shooting. I have got Andrew's guide, but I m still little confused. I have found these two lenses on ebay - 2x Schneider Iscorama and Kowa Prominar and would like to get opinion which one should I get, and if anyone has experience with either of the lenses, could you let me know what lenses I could use with these and from what focal lenghts. I would use them with BMPCC and BMCC. Thanks.
  10. Thank everybody for your insights. I m sorry for late replay, as I was out for couple of days on work and did not have steady access to internet. I would need camera mainly for short and feature dramatic (narrative) fillms. Not really documentaries. However most of these upcoming productions are low budget. I believe that for the price of 5dM3 I can get BMCC and BMPCC and shoot pro ress untill I m able to push the budget higher in order to support RAW workflow cost. This way I would be able to shoot with 2 cam set up which I preffer much more to single cam shoot. Down the line I would lofe to have that FF camera too, but I guess I will have to go one step at a time. Thanks again.
