  1. Ok. But fast or slow pans: in both situations the judder is noticeable. Also when filming fast moving subjects like cars the judder is noticeable. I use Kingston SDXC Professional UHS-I U3 64GB cards (read: 90mb/s write: 80 mb/s). Are these fast enough?
  2. I tested it, but I didn't work out for me. I made several pans with OIS off but still the judder is noticeable. Should I use 30p for these kinds of shots, and render it as 25P?
  3. Thanks! Im gonna give it a try and will post the outcome here.
  4. Im indeed shooting at 25p. What do u mean with noticing the judder of shooting at 24/25p? This should be possible right?
  5. Hi Bunk, Thanks for your response. I checked the version number of my current lens firmware. It states Version 1.2. This is the latest version right? Or do I have to shut my OIS off during slider/plan shots? (it's always on)
  6. Hi guys, I noticed some jitter issues on my GH4 output today and I hope someone here can help me out. I uploaded footage (one slider shot & one pan shot) which demonstrates my issue: Slider shot: https://vimeo.com/116564101 Pan shot: https://vimeo.com/116564641 Details: Panasonic GH4 12-35mm Shutter speed: 50 Fps: 25 Shot in 4k. Rendered in 1080p. What do I do wrong? How can I avoid this ' jitter effect'?
  7. Thanks for the input, guys. The Polaroid screen seems to be a nice investment for the future. I am not going to work with multiple monitors like leeys mentioned, so a 2,5K screen might be the best option. Is the Apple 27'' Thunderbolt screen the best option in that case? Or are there other (Apple) screens on the market which are interesting too?
  8. Hi there, I'm about to switch to a brand new Mac Pro for my video editing work. My current system has problems with editing my Panasonic GH4's 4K footage. The question is: Which screen is the best option for me (<€1.500) ? I heard about some affordable 4K screens (like the Samsung UHD 28'' monitor), but they might have some teething troubles. What about the Apple Thunderbolt display? (although it is not a 4K monitor). What would you guys do? Cheers!
  9. If Jnorman34 don't mind, I would like to use this topic for my own dilemma: Since my current configuration has problems with editing 4K footage, I would like to switch to a better configuration. I am thinking about buying the new Mac Pro (fast workflow, futureproof). The only thing is: i use Sony Vegas for my edits, and Sony Vegas is not available for Mac. So I need to install Windows on my new Macbook. Questions: Are there any downsides on installing Windows on my Mac Pro? What is the best workflow (Bootcamp,Parallels?) for installing Windows on the Mac Pro? Hope to hear from you! Thanks in advance.
  10. Here you go! I think this sounds much better. What is the best workflow to match the 'less rich' sound to my good audio in post? Simply raise the db? Thanks in advance.
  11. Thanks for your comments! External recording is not really an option for me since I would like to stay mobile on location. The point is that, when shooting interviews with my GH4 the mic levels reach the red levels all the time. So I set the mic level adj (in camera) to -6 dB or even -12 dB. The mic levels didn't reach the red area anymore, but my audio sounds less 'rich'. I've made a comparison of an interview with my GH2 and my new GH4 (same external mic). See and listen: The recorded sound on my GH2 sounds much 'richer', do you agree? I just tried the following: GH4 mic level adj: 0 dB Sennheiser ew 122-p G3: 0 dB But: mic level limiter ON Now my audio levels hardly reach the red area and sounds 'richer'. Is this the best solution for me? What do you guys think? Thanks in advance.
  12. That is an option, but I prefer to record my audio in camera. The strange thing is that my mic levels are almost in the red zone (at my GH4) but the volume of my audio files on my computer is a bit low. How can I resolve this?
  13. Hi there, I'm testing the GH4 with my Sennheiser MKE 400 external mic. It seems that my recorded audio is not loud enough. The audio level monitor on the GH4's screen barely comes to the center of the audio level monitor. I have a few questions: How can I get my audio recorded much louder? I've already set the mic level to +6dB. Is it safe to use this setting anyway? Thanks in advance!
  14. Thanks! It's clear now! I hope somebody can answer question 2 for us :-)
