    • What can Canon be thinking?
Blame the consumer, though. Instead of going for brand B, everyone still goes to a store and buys a Canon. If they massively wouldn't, that would call for change, but unfortunately they're in a position where they're allowed to slack. Especially when it comes to the entry-level consumer cameras. There's nothing innovative or outspecced with what they do (with exception perhaps the DualPixel AF that might be the best in its class). But you do have to agree, that Canon's aren't fuzzy. It works quite well. It might be underwhelming in terms of features, but they still deliver the basics well. Tie that to the name that still carries some weight, not neccessarily for what they're doing now, but years back and people still get a Canon camera. And if people still buy your cameras, you don't even need to break a sweat. You can just sit back and see the ca$h come rolling in...
    • Canon XC10 versus Sony RX10 III. The Canon is underrated!
I came upon this XC10 video, on YouTube, a few days back and it was one of the deciding factors for me to hit buy.

That's awesome. My newest quest for my perfect camera was born from watching some Kendy Ty videos and seeing what he does with so little. My first camera was a t2i, so had already been there and wanted to try something new. My original plan was to get a D5500 and use basically only my 28mm f2 Nikkor... One of my favorite lenses of all time. My real motivation was a simple 1080p set up that shot clean 24p and 60p. When I was about ready to buy it, I started seeing videos from the micro and thought... Well for only a little more I can get a micro and shoot raw. As I have said before... It's a great camera but not for me. So here I am, I may still pick up that D5500 because I need a camera to fulfil my lens obsession.
    • Lens turbo m43 + Nikon 14-24 2.8 vs Lumix 12-32 3.5-5.6
I prefer the cleaner kit lens look as I don't want the cinematic look. It can be made wider with a step up ring and Ricoh GW-1, which works surprising well and changes it from 12mm to 9.5mm. I usually use a longer lens but the 12-32 is so small it is always worth taking along.

That's why I just bought a T2i and Nikkors. I'd thought about it since Andrew wrote abut Kendy Ty a couple of years ago, and upon rewatching his stuff, decided to get one. Also, I just like to experiment and try different cameras and lenses. I've never owned a Canon DSLR or Nikon lenses, so it's new and kind of exciting.
