Hi Andrew, thanks for your answer, I think you also have a Japan GH2, did you attempt to have the 25P with the new Ptool?
Which settings? Maybe I can work (if is possible) in 25p and then transform the footage in 50i, what do you think?

Hi Mark,
thank you for your suggestion, a lot of reading for the next 3/4 days!
I'm new to Gh2, and I live in Japan so have the NTSC version for PAL assignment...hope to find the good workflow for my work.

My humble opinion is because of the new firmware update and new hacks and understanding of certain areas the GH2 can in terms of picture quality compete rather nicely with cams like the C300.  Unless you need 4,2,2 for greenscreen. 

But then put £650 for the GH2 against the £12000 for the C300 and really it's a no brainer and who knows you could buy the C300 and a hack is found for the GH2 to deliver 4,2,2.

Of course though another hidden expense is you still need a good matte box, ND filters and a monitor. The good thing is when you have those things,any new comparable cameras with  those things IE lenses, come with you!

I really think DSLR style cameras could be the way forward for film makers. However NAB could pull out a comeback.

Exciting times but maybe the wrong times to invest heavily!

Hi, Alberto,

The best image patches (such as driftwood's Intra patches) eat up your card space pretty quickly. A good compromise between Intra quality and smaller file sizes is Andrew's Intra-esting patch found in the patch vault on EOSHD.com.

If that is too card-hungry, the Vanilla patch on the same page uses still less space and looks very nice as well, though not Intra.

I have also been using the Flow Motion patch, which has several quality/space options. I believe that is the latest version. 1.1 and 1.11 are different labels for the same thing, according to Andrew on another thread...

I'd be interested in the new patches also for the 1.1 firmware. I'm not up on all the names and terms used for the various patches, but would want a safe stable patch. Previously I hacked my GH1 and have now updated to the GH2 but haven't applied any hack yet.
