Panasonic GH2 hack for V1.11 firmware is out!

Vitaliy Kiselev has just released a new version of the GH2 hack, PTools v3.64d for the new Panasonic V1.11 firmware.

The latest version of PTools also supports the GF2, adds more AVCHD related patches and brings improvements to certain existing GH2 patches.

just when the video retarded nikon d800 thinks it's something cos some dude with a big helmet on a motor bike. shakes his stills camera around and his director says. man the d800 as a camera it cannot get any better than this this is nikon steppin up and changin dere game 
all i can say is god help us if that is true and then.

comes this modest cheap bit of panasonic plastic and with the help of a mad russian and other looney tunes.
they fart in the general direction of canon and nikon and say you own the market but not for much longer.
you have been lazy and greedy.

I will work for a documentary film for French television shot with a "canon XF100" as the first camera.
Could someone suggest me a good pach for quality images, and a good record length. 1080-50i. I have a 32GB SanDisk Extreme class 10 card.

The latest 1.11 firmware is great, (improved NR, "HBR" 25p) you should just wait for EOSHD latest patches (based on 1.1 hack) that might be available for download very soon. Moving back to previous firmware (1.0) would be pity in my opininion.

Have to agree jean. Driftwoods new quantum hack using I frames is simply brilliant with the new panasonic upgrade!

I updated the firmware with the Driftwood GOP1 AQ2 all round  'AQUAMOTION' ver 2, that I used before on the 1.0, but I think that the resolution, or definition has change to worse.. Anyone notice that?

Doesn't the noise reduction filter leads to worse definition or resolution?

I'm not an engineer and I may have this wrong and I've only used driftwoods quantum patch in HBR but if I understand correctly the GH2 has a  4608 x 3456 sensor and if the noise reduction is applied before being down sampled to 1920 x 1080 then I imagine it must be doing a better job.

If it isn't I still see a better quality picture which may be totally down to driftwoods hack. For me a major problem in version one was the noise. Version 1.1 has addressed that and although (moan) still 4,2,0 and 8 bit I think this camera with the hack and 1.1 version is now working on the limits of what can be achieved in this format (Pretty damned good). At least to what I can see. What for me would finish it would be clean HDMI out at 4,2,2.
