    • Looking into new field recorder.
I was wondering if you guys could help me out deciding on a new field recorder. I currently use the Tascam 60D (mark 1) but am tired of it's design. I'm thinking about maybe getting the 70D instead as I do like that design when having the recorder hang over my shoulder in the straps. But I'm not a sound guy really so am not following too much news in that field, thinking you guys might have better recommendations. I have a rode NTG2 and Link Filmkit hooked up to it mostly if that makes any differences to choices. Thanks in advance guys!

Where can you see footage of this mode?

I have the 5e and if you are looking at the 3 for the BMMCC, it should work okay with focus peaking on. The BMMCC has some of the best focus peaking I've ever used.Ā

No worries, nothing against amateurs. I consider one of them to begin with. Only because I've decided to make this business for a living for more than two decades now,Ā I just don't have videos to show in a personal account online on youtube, vimeo or suchlike. I am used to see my work melt in team work to be screened inĀ Venice, Berlin --Ā two feature films in the same edition (2014), one of them awarded thereĀ made me proud, Sundance (also awarded in the same year edition), Locarno, San Sebastian, San Francisco,Ā Hong Kong or London Film Festivals, among many others worldwide. Follow the IMDb link in my signature, maybe you'll find part of thisĀ stuff on youtube like yours. Frankly, no idea. Last time I checked (not fake modesty), I had to ask to put it out of there because was too early to sitĀ in that distribution window;Ā despite the fact we were sharing the same credits alongside a distinguished individual asĀ Spike Lee, producer of the documentary,Ā as well. Certain people are very proud of their work. Some others appreciate to run away fromĀ so many worries to occur in a daily basis when they tend to finally be overĀ andĀ you were in the middle of such. I actuallyĀ am in this industry mostly because of my pleasure to watch a movie, so I try to have fun with the films of others as much as possible. To come here and trade ideas on toys with other amateurs in aĀ deepest geek attitude is something priceless, markĀ my words.Ā  Ā  Nice piece of yours on youtube, by the way :-)

Yes I am an amateur. I made a few videos in my entire life. 6 of them on YouTube.Ā
This is my latest one below. Can you show me your 6th video you made as an amateur with no rig or budget so I can see your talent? Sorry if mine does not please you, I am constantly evolving (compared to my previous video, and the previous one) and that's what counts for me. I know small sensor limitations. I constantly defend larger sensors on this forum.Ā GoPro footage is better than the Mavic is what I am saying here. Take a look at the video above as well as the thailand one by bloom. You can produce good stuff with small sensors, amateur or not, but small sensors are not equals. Neither are lenses and codecs. Ā
