  2. Panasonic to produce 3D Lens for GH1 / GH2



    In a story first picked up by the US-Japanese website Akihabara News it seems Panasonic have a 3D lens in production for the GH1 and forthcoming GH2, with a Micro 4/3rds mount.

    Not only is it perfectly feasible on a technical basis, but a 3rd party 3D lens for the Four Thirds mount has already hit the market from Loreo.

    However Panasonic's lens will be designed along with the accompanying firmware in their cameras for better functionality and performance.

    Any new Panasonic's Lumix G cameras certainly bypassed the PMA 2010 show last weekend, where Panasonic chose to focus attention on their new compact digi-cams. Curiously missing amongst those, was the LX4.

    Well, the gap is about to be filled.

    Panasonic are also to correct their past marketing mistakes on the Lumix G line. As revealed by EOSHD.com last month, the GH1 will not get a successor until September but Panasonic are ready to broaden the range and to make it a more affordable one, to compete with Canon and Nikon's entry level DSLRs.
