UPDATE Though not yet 11pm EST on New Year’s Day, it appears the hack is a hoax. Nothing stacks up right now, according to Philip Bloom. This stuff about Canon offering the team $650,000 is nonsense. It’s bad that someone can abuse the trust of the community and string us along with some kind of fraud (the end-game of which we can only speculate as) but we shouldn’t loose too much…

https://vimeo.com/17987299 In the last few weeks I’ve been locked away in a dark studio in Berlin working just on EOSHD.com, but I also found time with my resident music-producing mate to make this video, shot with the available lighting in the studio:
Read the full interview with Black Swan’s DP Matthew Libatique ASC with American Cinematography magazine here If there was one filmmaker I’d always thought would end up shooting DSLRs it is Darren Aronofksy, one of the brightest filmmakers around, who shot The Wrestler and Requiem for a Dream in 16mm.
Somebody had to get the 4K cinema ball rolling for consumers and sadly it is not Canon, not Nikon and indeed not even Panasonic or Sony. Of the big guns, Canon have shown a hairdryer with a small chip, and that’s it.
View and order it at Letus Direct here I am a big fan of shoulder mounted rigs for handheld DSLR shooting. With the flip out screen on the GH2 and now with the Canon 60D, it means that the LCD can be offset on a shoulder mounted rig so that it’s right in front of you.
Converge have relaunched their website, with tons of fresh DSLR video related content. Yours truly is extremely honoured to become a guest blogger for Converge. You can read why I am so excited about DSLRs here.

You need to go to the YouTube page for the video here, and check the box for 3D. You will see a few options, compatible with different kinds of display. Panasonic seem to be very good at hiding their best features. First AF tracking was removed from the final production firmware, presumably to be fixed and added…
